Ever wonder how physicians like to stay active? Dr. Michael Chen, interventional cardiologist with Adventist HealthCare Cardiac Associates, enjoys running – and this year, he once again placed in the National Senior Games! Dr. Chen competed in the 1 mile, 5K, and 10K road races, earning one gold and two silver medals in his age group.

The best part? He competed alongside his mom, who participated in the 5K power walk and 1500-meter power walk, taking home bronze medals in her age group in both events!

Congratulations to Dr. Chen and his mom on their incredible accomplishments! What a wonderful way to stay healthy and spend quality time being active with family.

🏆 Congratulations to the team at Adventist HealthCare White Oak Medical Center for being recognized with the Medicus Integra Award, given to healthcare organizations that demonstrate a strong commitment to supporting the well-being of their physicians and advanced practice providers (APPs).

White Oak Medical Center was presented with the prestigious Medicus Integra© Award by representatives from the Coalition for Physician & APP Well-Being on Thursday, July 24. The award was accepted by James Rost, MD, vice president and chief medical officer of White Oak Medical Center, in a ceremony held during the Coalition’s 2025 Joy & Wholeness Summit in Ashville, NC. We hosted the closing ceremony for the 2025 Stepping Stones Program at Adventist HealthCare—a wonderful opportunity for pre-med and medical students to gain hands-on clinical experience within our hospitals.

The ceremony featured thoughtful remarks from Dan Cochran, President of Adventist HealthCare Shady Grove Medical Center, and guest speaker Dr. Andrew Baum, Medical Director of Emergency Medicine. Students also shared meaningful reflections on their time shadowing physicians, nurses, and healthcare teams throughout our system.

Congratulations to all of our 2025 participants! Your professionalism and passion for medicine truly stood out, and we’re honored to have supported you on this journey.
