I want to congratulate a group of people that have dedicated their lives and time to learning and obtaining a medical certification to be able to respond and serve their communities better. These individuals recently finished an Emergency Medical Responder Course hosted by Alex Smith and Dynamite CPR and Medical Training. This course consisted of over 80 hours in the classroom and lab instruction. The students also engaged in real life-like scenarios that tested their knowledge gained. They endured the long dark dreary cold nights and learned to think outside of the box when you are limited on equipment and supplies.
These individuals will return to their agencies and provide first responder medical response. When a person encounters the worst day of their life and they dial 911, they expect a well trained and knowledgeable person to show up fast. We know these individuals will provide the best care possible and provide better access to the citizens in their communities.
So congratulations to the members of the Gallatin Volunteer Fire Department, Sumner County EMA, Cottontown Volunteer Fire Department, Westmoreland Fire Department, and Watertown Fire Department.
