Researchers from the analyzed pharmacogenomic testing data from 192 patients—and the results are eye-opening.

By identifying common enzyme variations like cytochrome P450 and SLCO1B1, they found strong links to adverse drug reactions and drug–gene interactions.

Their findings highlight how genetic testing and clinician education can help prevent medication-related complications and improve patient care.

Today, CLS faculty member Dr. Niti Vyas represented at the Shine Academy Innovations in Health Sciences Conference in Austin, Texas! She presented her poster, “Innovation: Going Beyond Lectures in an Online Asynchronous Course,” showcasing new approaches to online education in health sciences.

The Shine Academy is dedicated to promoting excellence in health science education across the University of Texas System, advancing research, scholarship, and leadership in the field.
