I'm a physical therapist in town and run OsteoVitality, a strength training program specifically for women with osteoporosis or low bone density. We meet twice weekly in Saratoga Springs. It’s designed to be safe, effective, and empowering—even for those who’ve never lifted weights before.

✨ Building stronger bones takes time, but the results are SO worth it! 💪 Changes in bone density don’t happen overnight—it can take up to a year (or more!) to see noticeable improvements. But guess what? Consistency is EVERYTHING. 🙌

🍂 fall mindfulness 🍂

As the seasons change, so can our approach to wellness. Just like a vibrant red leaf gently falling to the ground, fall invites us to slow down, reflect, and reconnect with ourselves.

Mindfulness during this season is about tuning into the transitions around and within us. Whether you're noticing the crispness in the air or feeling the need for more restorative practices, take a moment to:

🍁 breathe deeply – Pause to feel the cool air fill your lungs. Breathe in, hold, and exhale the stress of the day.

🍁 ground yourself – Just as the trees shed their leaves, let go of anything no longer serving you. Take time to center yourself through movement, stretches, or meditation.

🍁 embrace change – This season of transformation is the perfect time to set new intentions, revisit your goals, and find balance in both your body and mind.

As you move through fall, remember that mindful movement can be a powerful tool to align with the natural rhythms of the season. Let’s transition with purpose and grace.

Wondering if it's time to reassess your physical therapy? Here are 4 signs to keep in mind:

1️⃣ Improvement should start within 2 weeks—if not, it’s time to talk with your PT.
2️⃣ Stuck in a rut? If you're doing the same things without progress, reassess your plan.
3️⃣ Active participation is key! PT should go beyond passive treatments like heat, ice, ultrasound or TENS.
4️⃣ Your goals matter—make sure your PT is listening and aligning with what’s important to you.

We're thrilled to announce that Dr. Sarah Avery, DPT will be back from maternity leave on September 4th with a limited schedule! 🌟 Be sure to book your sessions early for the best times. And if our schedules don't match up, Dr. Carrie Joy, DPT is still available on Mondays and Fridays. 🗓️

On a personal note, Dr. Avery is over the moon to welcome their daughter, McKenty Marie Avery, born on May 28th. She arrived at 5:18 AM, weighing 7 lbs 1 oz and measuring 21 inches long. It was a beautiful home birth, and they're all all adjusting wonderfully to life as a family of three. McKenty loves the outdoors, bath time, and mom and dads silly faces! 👶💕

Dr. Avery is looking forward to seeing everyone soon!
