C-sections, while a medical wonder in emergency cases, are taking place at an unprecedented rate in the USA, nearly a third of our babies are birthed this way.

WHY though? While one hospital may have 15% C-section rate another may be as high as 60% of all births.

CHOOSE your hospital and support team wisely as "Several factors unrelated to patients’ medical needs, including hospital policies, the culture of the labor and delivery unit, and the attitudes and beliefs of individual doctors and nurses have all been shown to influence C-section rates"

C-sections are not inevitable but our and our healthcare teams' MINDSET is an incredibly predictive factor in whether or not you may birth this way.

FULL TIME EVERYTHING!

Today I've been reading through testimonials from new parents on how they became full time caregivers, chefs, cleaners, parents, handy-people, chauffeurs and more.

YOU ALL are spectacular! I love hearing about how parents are relying on each other, supports and doulas to help adjust during pregnancy and postpartum.

Sleep when you can, ask each other for what you need, focus on what you CAN do and be sure to give yourselves the personal, physical and emotional breaks you need.
