In celebration of National Health Center Week, we’re proud to partner with St. James Health & Wellness and Select Health to serve our community with love, care, and compassion!

📍 Location: Mt. Olive Georgetown – 1043 Duke St., Georgetown, SC
🕙 Time: 10AM – 2PM

Brenda Perkins is a dedicated and passionate Community Health Worker who has devoted her life to advocating for rural communities in Georgetown County. As the CEO and founder of Browns Ferry Community Outreach, Brenda has worked tirelessly to bridge the gap between underserved residents and the critical resources they need to thrive.

With over 30 years of experience in healthcare—including roles in both community health centers and the insurance industry—Brenda brings a deep and personal understanding of the challenges families face. Her commitment was further fueled by helping her own family navigate the healthcare system following her father’s heart failure diagnosis.

Today, Brenda wears many hats. She leads our organization, mentors fellow CHWs, and directly serves our neighbors with compassion and determination. Whether it’s connecting the uninsured to care or guiding seniors through services, she truly embodies our mission: to improve lives in our community every single day.

Outside of her impactful work, Brenda loves spending time with her two grandchildren, shopping, and decorating. Her advice to new Community Health Workers is a reflection of her heart:
“Treat every individual as if they were your own family. Make each person feel important and loved. Trust is the foundation of great community work.”

💧 THANK YOU COMMUNITY 💧

We are incredibly grateful for the outpouring of support during our Water Drive for the Black River Mobile Home Park. Thanks to your generosity and the powerful partnership between St James Health and Wellness and Browns Ferry Community Outreach, we were able to distribute over 300 units of water to families in need. 🙌🏽💙

Your contributions made a real impact, especially during these hot summer months to be without water. This is what community looks like — neighbors showing up for neighbors.

Special thanks to everyone who donated, spread the word, and supported the mission. You are appreciated more than words can say.
