💜 September is PCOS Awareness Month 💜

Browns Ferry Community Outreach joins in spreading awareness about Polycystic O***y Syndrome (PCOS), a condition that affects 1 in 10 women of childbearing age. Many women in our own community live with PCOS, often without knowing it.

✨ What is PCOS?
PCOS is a hormonal disorder that can cause irregular periods, infertility, weight gain, acne, and other health challenges.

✨ Why Awareness Matters:
Early diagnosis and treatment can help prevent long-term health issues such as diabetes, heart disease, and high blood pressure. Awareness also helps reduce stigma and makes sure no woman feels alone in her journey.

✨ Ways to Manage PCOS:
• Healthy lifestyle changes (diet, exercise, stress management)
• Medications to balance hormones and regulate cycles
• Support groups and community resources

Let’s continue to educate, support, and uplift women and families affected by PCOS in Georgetown County and beyond. Together, we can raise awareness and empower women to take charge of their health. 💪🏽

🌟 Thank You, Community! 🌟

Browns Ferry Community Outreach would like to sincerely thank our amazing community for nominating such dedicated caregivers who go above and beyond every day. 💙💛

As part of our Day of Caring, we had the honor of celebrating and giving back to these incredible caregivers who selflessly pour into others. This was our way of taking care of the caregivers and showing them the love and appreciation they truly deserve.

👏 Thank you to everyone who submitted nominations and helped us shine a light on the heroes right here in our community. Together, we continue to build a stronger, healthier, and more caring Browns Ferry!

The CHWs pictured here championed SC Roadmap to Address Social Determinants of Health Common Agenda development as the SC Roadmap Governance and Community Voice Advisory Council convened in Columbia.
