Protein= Essential Amino Acids
(essential 😁)
-
I get tired of hearing myself say the word protein over and over
But it’s that important! For everyone, not just individuals trying to look or perform a certain way.
-
Our bodies have so many unbelievable functions we take for granted. One of the things that promotes these functions operating properly is adequate intake of proteins.
-
Most people don’t intake the amount of protein sufficient to maintain the functionality they want over time/life (generally speaking), let alone enough to build the tissue they’re probably after, muscle!
This is dependent on each individual based on a few variables that can change daily/weekly/monthly/yearly based on a variety of factors.
-
The picture is an example of a few ways gets his intake. Such a struggle 😭😭😭😂

There is your who, what, when, and why. Reach out to us and find out HOW you can individually create long term success with a variety of strategies!

Overheating, Heat Exhaustion, and Heat Stroke.
-
Summer’s here, and while it’s great to enjoy the sunshine, it’s crucial to stay aware of the risks associated with overheating. Whether you’re exercising, working, or just enjoying the outdoors, heat-related illnesses can sneak up on you.
-
Understanding the signs and knowing what to do can make all the difference:
-
đŸ”ș Signs of Overheating:
- Excessive sweating
- Thirst
- Fatigue
- Muscle cramps
-
đŸ”ș Signs of Heat Exhaustion:
- Heavy sweating
- Weakness or confusion
- Dizziness
- Nausea or vomiting
- Pale, clammy skin
- Rapid heartbeat
-
đŸ”ș Signs of Heat Stroke (Emergency):
- High body temperature (104°F or higher)
- Hot, red, dry, or damp skin
- Rapid, strong pulse
- Confusion or loss of consciousness
- Seizures
-
đŸŒĄïž What to Do:
- Overheating: Move to a cooler area, hydrate with water or sports drinks, and take a break.
- Heat Exhaustion: Rest in a cool place, drink plenty of water or sports drinks, and apply cool compresses. If symptoms worsen or last more than an hour, seek medical help.
- Heat Stroke: Call 911 immediately. Move the person to a cooler place, and use cool cloths or a bath to lower their temperature. Do not give them fluids.
-
Stay safe and be mindful of these symptoms in yourself and others. Always listen to your body and take heat warnings seriously.

Supplements!
-
Do you find yourself wondering if you should be taking some kind of supplements or what to take?
Maybe coming from an informercial, friends talking, or maybe even professional recommendations.
-
Supplements do just that, supplement. If your body does not get adequate X which is necessary for Y function, then your body may not be working as good/efficient/etc as it can. There are many ways to get specific nutrients in your body, supplements is one of them and there are different demands person to person.
-
Be on the look out for a newsletter on the Fitness Beyond Training website! We will be expanding on this subject and hopefully arm you with information to help navigate your decisions. While you’re at it, catch up on your knowledge with the ones on there! 😃
-
Until then, please comment any specific questions, supplements, topic related questions below and we would be happy to expand on specific subjects!

Have a great day, do something to be better than yesterday, and have a great weekend everybody.

Do you do the basics? Or does it all seem complex?
-
Getting the basics consistently done over time is one of the secrets to success. In whatever!
Before one worries themselves with:
-What’s the best exercise for X?
-How much is the optimal amount of X nutrient (protein, fat, carbs, vitamins, etc)?
-what’s the least amount of time I can get this done in?!?!
You should maybe start with some other recognitions/thoughts/questions like:
-Do I train consistently/do something to better myself?
-Do I pay attention to what goes into my mouth?
-Is the time you’re spending making you and/or the ones around you better/happier/etc?!?!
-
It is easy for some to start overthinking things and forget to do the basics. Take some time to think about the basics (write them down) and ask yourself if you’re accomplishing them or need to learn how to be better at doing so.
Examples:
-Adequate good quality sleep
-Proper nutrition to fuel your bodies needs and support the tasks you ask of it.
-Proper hydration for same reasons as nutrition
-Physicals/mental/social/etc stimulus that will allow your body to maintain it’s current state, or have positive growth from it
-The list can go on

Each one of these bullet points can be broken down into the nuances if necessary. The point is, if you’re thinking about these things without getting them done one way or another, it’s time to start.
-
Have a great day and stay safe folks!

Hydration!
-
As we’re continuing to dip into these hotter days, hydration becomes increasingly important. A few considerations to think about:
-How high/low is your activity level?
-Do you sweat a lot? Relatively.
-Can you create constant access to a hydration source? (Ie. Water bottle and such)
-
Hydration involves a variety of factors, with a few we can control. “Drink more water” is a good place to start but may lead to its own problems.
Think about it. If you taste your sweat, does it taste like plain water? It should have a slightly salty taste. That salty taste is partially minerals being excreted with your sweat. If you continue to intake plain water as you constantly sweat, that can lead to issues as well.
-
Take a look at what you eat and figure out if you’re getting minerals (salt, calcium, potassium, etc). If so, consistently drinking water throughout the day, along with your nutrition, may be enough to keep a proper balance. As simple as a small salty snack prior to activity along with water may suffice.
Add in long bouts of exercise, heat, intensity, or mixture; And you will compound those factors. THAT is when using other sources to “hydrate” may be beneficial. Think electrolyte drink powders, drinks, and the like.
-
Don’t wait to hydrate! Keep that sponge saturated 😁
Stay safe and happy training!
