This week residents enjoyed a truly special cello performance by Assistant Professor of Music, Southwestern University, Hai Zheng-Olefsky. The program brought elegance, artistry, and a wonderful sense of connection to our community.

This memorable concert was part of our ongoing commitment to enriching lives through meaningful cultural experiences and judging by the smiles in the room, it was a resounding success!

Thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make this event so special. 💛

Time, tradition, and treasured stories filled the Hewlett Community Room during our 2nd Annual Wesleyan Antiques Road Show in celebration of National Cherish an Antique Day! 🕰️✨

Residents brought an incredible variety of pieces to share from clocks and rocking chairs dating back to the 1800s to vintage military uniforms, each with a story as meaningful as the item itself.

But what truly made the afternoon special were the storytellers behind the antiques. Each piece opened the door to memories, history, and personal connections that reminded us all of something important: every story matters at The Wesleyan.

From heartfelt reflections to fascinating glimpses into the past, this event was a beautiful celebration of the lives, experiences, and voices that make our community so rich.

Thank you to everyone who shared a piece of their history with us and made this event one to remember.

We’re proud to celebrate the completion of this semester’s student program, with 34 incredible students from Georgetown and East View who have spent their time learning, growing, and building meaningful connections within our Assisted Living community.

This week, our residents and teammates gave them a heartfelt sendoff wishing them the very best as they take the skills, compassion, and experiences they’ve gained here into their next chapter.

Rooted in our Georgetown community, this program reflects what matters most to us: investing in education, fostering connection, and leaving things better than we found them.

We’re grateful to have been part of their journey and we know they’ll continue to make a difference wherever they go.

The Easter Bunny made a special appearance at The Wesleyan this week!

Our residents had a wonderful time enjoying our annual Easter egg hunt searching all around the community for the coveted golden eggs. With over 2,000 eggs hidden throughout Independent Living and Assisted Living, the fun and anticipation carried on all week long!

The celebration came together at our pre-Easter party, where our lucky golden egg finders were surprised with special prizes, and a visit from the Easter Bunny himself, spreading smiles and springtime cheer.

Laughter, connection, and a little friendly competition filled our halls, making this week one to remember for everyone who joined in the fun.

Our residents had a wonderful time getting creative and celebrating the changing season by making beautiful spring wreaths together. Laughter, color, and creativity filled the room as everyone added their own personal touch to these festive creations.

A special thank you to our Vice President of Operations, Kelly Goetz, for leading this fun and meaningful activity. It was a joy to come together, connect, and welcome the new season in such a creative way!

Moments like these remind us that it’s not just about the activities it’s about the joy of togetherness and celebrating life’s simple pleasures. 💐

History came to life at Wesleyan in a powerful and unforgettable way.

We were honored to welcome Damian Adame, a dedicated high school history teacher from Greensboro, North Carolina, who recently traveled to Poland to study the Holocaust in the very places where history unfolded. Graciously taking time during his spring break, Damian joined us at our independent & assisted living campuses to share his experiences, stories, and reflections bringing the past into the present through a truly impactful “living classroom” for our residents.

His presentation was more than a lesson it was a moving reminder of the importance of remembrance, education, and bearing witness. By walking the grounds where so many lives were impacted, Damian gained a deeper understanding that he so meaningfully shared with our community.

Adding to the special nature of the event, Damian is the grandson of our residents, Pat & Tom Shumaker, and the nephew of our CEO, Bethany Sisneroz making this experience deeply personal and uniquely connected to the Wesleyan family.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for this well-attended and impactful event. Together, we continue to honor history, foster learning, and ensure that these stories are never forgotten. 🕊️

As the sun begins to rise over The Wesleyan, a quiet stillness settles across our campus. One of our residents recently shared this beautiful moment captured in our prayer garden—featuring the bronze of the Good Shepherd gently watching over the space.

There’s something special about starting the day here… a sense of peace, comfort, and reflection. The Good Shepherd is a reminder that we are never alone that we are guided, cared for, and held in grace.

Moments like these are what make our community so meaningful. A place to pause, to breathe, and to be reminded of what truly matters.

“He restores my soul.” – Psalm 23:3

Our Memory Care residents enjoyed a fun and interactive “build your own taco” lunch, filled with delicious flavors, laughter, and meaningful moments together. From choosing their favorite toppings to sharing smiles around the table, it was a wonderful time of engagement and connection.

You could say it was nacho average lunch!🌮😄

Experiences like these bring joy, spark memories, and create a sense of community we cherish every day at The Wesleyan.

Our Story

The Wesleyan’s ministry began as a community vision to care for the aging in 1962. The Wesleyan began as a community collaboration of The Methodist Church, The Williamson County Sun, the Georgetown Chamber of Commerce and the citizens of Georgetown to be the first in the city to provide for the aging. That vision came to fruition on September 10, 1962 when the first resident moved into what was then The Wesleyan Retirement Home.Since then, The Wesleyan has grown with Georgetown and the region, leading the way in aging and health services, providing a full continuum of care, promoting a vibrant philosophy of well-being, and championing a new bountiful experience of aging full of purpose, passion, and possibility.True to it’s roots, The Wesleyan still pursues a vision nourished by deep relationships — relationships among those it serves and its teammates, and relationships with the people of Georgetown and Central Texas.
