A wise man once said, “Pain is inevitable, suffering is optional”. I have lived with chronic pain for over thirty years due to having had four spinal surgeries, fibromyalgia, and advanced arthritis in both knees. I am not going to tell you that
I’ve never suffered. But! I will tell you that I have learned how not to suffer, to be at peace even when I’m in awful pain,
and it’s all in your state of mind. That’s why I pray! What we focus on is what we get. Jesus tells us what we believe, we receive. This takes practice, but we must train our minds to minimize the pain and focus on what is real which is the Love of our Lord Jesus Christ. We must meditate on His Love. Focus on Nature, the beauty of His Love. We must believe more in Peace than we do in pain. That’s when the suffering ends and Peace and Love begin. This is my prayer for each of you, Peace of God.
