This week’s Friday Favorite is Bad Apple by Edward Hemingway 🍎🐛

This book is great to address action verbs, emotions and descriptive words 🗣️

My patients love to search for these apple containers around my therapy room. 🕵🏼‍♀️ I fill them with their vocabulary targets or words consisting of their speech sound goals. They would also be great practice for prepositions and following directions! 👂

The Artic Orchard craft by Panda Speech on Teachers Pay Teachers is a fun way to practice speech sounds in exchange for stickers! 🍏

This week’s Friday Favorite is “There Was An Old Lady Who Swallowed Some Leaves” by Lucille Colandro 🍂

This book is great for targeting fall vocabulary, initial /l/, s-blends, sequencing and pronouns 🤓

I like to scatter the objects around the room to give patients a movement break while reading and they always enjoy “feeding” the Old Lady 👵🏻

Bonus points for pairing this activity with a craft to address fine motor skills and make our OT friends proud ⭐️

Thankful for dollar stores and old shoe boxes for making this activity a reality!

Happy Tuesday! This week’s tip is all about screen time and language 👶🏻📱

Excessive screen time can distract us from opportunities to foster language development 🗣️

Living in a “screen-less” world is unrealistic. Consider implementing “screen-free” times in your schedule for intentional communication and interactions with your child to facilitate language growth 👶🏻

Not all screen time is “bad”. I plan to share more on what I’ve learned in the upcoming weeks 🤓

I love working on early language skills so this week’s Tuesday Therapy Tip is all about Late Talkers! 👶🏻🗣️

A little more information on factors that contributed to the likelihood of LLE: 👩🏼‍🏫

💡 Family History: Your child has a greater chance of being a late talker if LLE runs in your family.

💡 Gender: Boys are more likely to be late talkers 🩵

💡Siblings: Children with siblings 👶🏻👧🏼🧒🏼

💡 Prematurity: Babies born before 37 weeks or
