Mission Update 🇹🇿
I regret to inform you that Addy will not be able to join us on our mission this year. Due to her demanding course load and midterm schedule, it became impossible for her to take the time away. Additionally, we were unable to raise the necessary funds to cover both of our expenses, especially with the rising costs. We hope that next time, we’ll have more time for fundraising and be able to make it happen.
On a more positive note….one of the greatest needs we identified during our last mission was the lack of transportation to the clinic, particularly in emergency situations. This has tragically led to maternal and newborn deaths. We’ve just received exciting news that a family has generously donated enough funds to purchase an all-terrain vehicle to be used as an ambulance. This is truly a Godsend! We’re hopeful that this will spark important conversations and provide opportunities for education around clinic transfers, timing, and the necessary equipment for the ambulance.
It’s hard to believe that in just five short weeks, we’ll be returning to Tanzania. If you’d like to support our team, we welcome your prayers for our safety and openness to God’s plan. While our goal is to help improve the lives of the tribal people, we know that we may face challenges along the way.

It was such an honor to receive special recognition as a provider in action for inclusion from Dignity Health. It is an absolute privilege to get to serve my community as a midwife. It makes me so happy to know that the care I provide makes a difference in the lives of my patients. 💞

I’m excited to share that I will be going on a medical mission with my son, Hayden, in just a few short weeks! Hayden is an EMT and pre-med student at the University of Arizona. We are joining a team that is making a second trip to Tanzania as part of a women’s health initiative. We are hoping we can help bridge the relationship between the tribal and clinic midwives which will make healthcare more acceptable and accessible. We will then be able to provide education on when it is important for women to seek help. We will also be able to supply personal protective equipment for the triable midwives who are currently attending birth with no personal protection.

I was going through my photos and stumbled upon some pictures from August. I was completely caught off guard, and surprised with the Dignity Health Guardian Angel award. I am so honored to have been nominated for this award. I adore my patients and I feel so blessed to get to serve the families in my community. 💓
