I’ve supported over 100 families through pregnancy, birth, and postpartum.
I’ve also walked this journey myself—as a mother, and as an African American and Indigenous woman who understands the quiet fears, prayers, and hopes that can live in the body when bringing life into this world.
And still… I am learning.
This year, I made a decision to slow down and deepen my education—especially around the African American prenatal journey. Not to position myself as an expert, but to be a more thoughtful, accountable, and present doula.
With that commitment came another realization:
growth in birthwork isn’t only about learning more—it’s about unlearning.
So I created a new space called Where Birth Is Remembered.
It’s a reflective space for doulas and birthworkers who want to study, question, listen, and grow with care.
My first post is live:
3 Things I’m Unlearning as a Doula This Year
If you’re a birthworker who believes this work is ongoing, relational, and deeply human—I hope you’ll read it and join me there.
Learning together feels like the right place to begin. 🤍
