When we stop eating processed carbs and sugar to reverse Metabolic Syndrome, we expect to feel amazing immediately.
Science says: You won't.
In fact, you will likely feel worse before you feel better.
This is where most people quit. They think, "This isn't working, I feel tired!"
But as a Nurse Practitioner, I know that "tiredness" is actually a sign that it IS working.
๐๐๐ซ๐ ๐ข๐ฌ ๐ญ๐ก๐ ๐๐ข๐จ๐ฅ๐จ๐ ๐ข๐๐๐ฅ ๐ญ๐ข๐ฆ๐๐ฅ๐ข๐ง๐ ๐จ๐ ๐ ๐๐๐ญ๐๐๐จ๐ฅ๐ข๐ ๐๐๐ฌ๐๐ญ:
Days 1-3: The Withdrawal ๐ซ
Your insulin levels are plummeting (a good thing!). But your brain is throwing a tantrum because its quick sugar fix is gone. You might feel headachey or irritable.
Strategy: Drink water and eat salt. Push through.
Days 4-7: The "Whoosh" ๐ง
Insulin makes you hold onto water and sodium. As insulin drops, your kidneys flush out that excess fluid. You will lose "bloat" rapidly. Your rings will fit looser. Your face will look less puffy.
Days 8-14: The Switch ๐ก
This is the magic zone. Your body starts realizing, "Oh, no more sugar coming? I guess I should burn this body fat instead."
This is Metabolic Flexibility.
Suddenly, the 2 PM crash disappears. The brain fog lifts. You have steady energy all day.
The Lesson:
Do not judge your success by how you feel on Day 3.
Judge your success by how you feel on Day 14.
