It’s such a honor to be in the sacred space of someone’s birth. Sometimes things go in a different direction and we have to adjust. When we have knowledge and support we can pivot and move forward with peace and confidence!

I realized I needed some extra support towards the end of my pregnancy and Chris was the perfect fit for us. We got to know her during our prenatal visits and soon realized what a gem she is. We could talk to her for hours and loved how she had such a passion for learning more to help her clients. I love that she took the time to go over all of the things I wanted for my birth plan and organized all of it into a document for me. That was a huge help. When it came time for my labor, things did not go to plan but Chris was there the entire time to be the extra support my boyfriend and I both needed to create a calm space and be a sounding board when making decisions. She is truly a caring and genuine person and any Mama out there would be lucky to have her as a doula!”

Absolutely! Newborns have flexible skulls with soft spots that adjust and overlap as they pass through the birth canal. So, if someone comments that your baby is too large, remember that their skull is designed to adapt to different pelvis shapes.

The next generation of babies born 2025-2039 will be called Gen Beta! While DNA doesn’t change , culture does. These babies will face the fastest evolving technology changes, societal changes, and climate changes than we have ever seen!

But what won’t change? Babies will be born. Babies will need love. Moms will need support.

As we go into 2025 I am looking forward to seeing changes in woman’s healthcare, greater access to doulas through insurance, less birth trauma, and more happy mamas!

You might think it’s silly to read to a new baby. However, there are so many benefits. Reading helps develop their brains. It helps them learn speech patterns, sounds and words. Reading also stimulates their imagination. It’s the beginning of a life long love of learning.

As a mom I loved reading to my babies and as a postpartum doula I feel honored to read to the new babies I care for!

Preparing for your postpartum recovery can really be helpful for a smooth transition home. The more prepared you are, you more rest you will get aiding in better physical recovery. It also takes some of the stress out of this time!
