Communication is key in any relationship. GOOD communication takes work from both partners and it’s not intuitive, it’s a learned skill.

Check out this amazing couple from our DateNight Therapy workshop putting their new skill into action using “I statements”!

Instead of saying “You never listen to me,” try “I feel unheard when I don’t get a response.” This simple shift fosters understanding and connection rather than defensiveness and blame.

Have you tried using “I statements” in your relationship? Let us know in the comments! ⬇️

Need some tips about managing election anxiety… keep reading!

• VOTE!!!

• Limit Media Exposure: Set boundaries on how much news you consume daily. Choose a time-limited window for updates and stick to it.

• Focus on What You Can Control: Engage in activities that empower you, like voting, volunteering, or having balanced conversations with friends.

• Practice Mindful Breathing: Use deep breathing exercises to help manage anxiety. A simple technique is the 4-7-8 breath: inhale for 4 seconds, hold for 7, and exhale for 8.

• Stay Active: Physical activity can help reduce anxiety by boosting endorphins. Even a short walk can make a difference.

• Connect with Supportive People: Spend time with people who support you emotionally and who can provide a calming influence.

• Engage in Relaxing Activities: Whether it’s reading, listening to music, or doing a hobby, make time for things that bring you peace.

• Seek Professional Help if Needed: If anxiety feels overwhelming, reaching out to a therapist can be an effective step toward managing stress.
