🌟 Why You Should Be Doing Planks — and How Long to Hold Them 🌟

Planks are one of the most effective full‑body exercises you can do without any equipment. They help improve posture, reduce back discomfort, increase flexibility, and strengthen your entire core — which supports balance, stability, and everyday movement.

How long should beginners hold a plank?
If you’re new to planking, start small. Most beginners do well start with 10–20 seconds. The goal isn’t to hold it forever — it’s to hold it with good form.

How to progress over time:
• Once 20 seconds feels comfortable, work your way up to 30–40 seconds.
• After that, aim for 45–60 seconds as your core gets stronger.
• Consistency matters more than long holds — short, high‑quality planks done regularly make the biggest difference.

Why it works:
• Strengthens your core muscles
• Helps improve posture
• Can reduce back discomfort by supporting the spine
• Improves flexibility in your shoulders, hamstrings, and arches
• Builds endurance in stabilizing muscles

As we step into a new year, I’m not thinking about extremes or perfection.
I’m thinking about nourishment, balance, and sustainable habits, especially for women in midlife.
This year is about:
• Supporting our metabolism, not fighting our bodies
• Building strength, energy, and resilience
• Choosing habits that feel good and last
• Prioritizing health as a lifestyle, not a resolution
Small, consistent choices create powerful change.

🔄 Desire to change
You’re motivated, you want to make a change, and you dive in headfirst.

⚡ Infamous diet
You grab the latest “quick fix,” thinking it’ll bring the results you want. But extreme restrictions set you up for burnout.

⬇️ Initial weight loss
You see results early on, which feels great, but it doesn’t last because the restrictions aren’t sustainable.

🚫 Falling off track
