Anita has experience working with children ages birth to school-aged, including those with receptive and expressive language delays, speech sound disorders, and AAC needs. She is bilingual in English and Polish and has experience implementing therapy with bilingual children. She is passionate about following the child’s lead and creating play-based treatment plans. She strives to educate families and encourage fun ways to incorporate language into their home life. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her son, being outdoors, and reading.

The Little Speech Clinic just got a little bigger! We are so excited to welcome Claire to The Little Speech Clinic family!

Claire has extensive experience working with the pediatric population including children with expressive and receptive language delays, speech sound disorders, motor speech disorders, AAC (augmentative and alternative communication), and feeding disorders. She is passionate about building meaningful relationships with her clients and their families and creating individualized, play-based treatment plans. Claire believes in building off the child’s individual strengths and utilizing their unique interests to motivate and encourage new communication skills. In her free time, Claire enjoys chasing her toddler around, spending time outside, and baking!

The Little Speech Clinic is a private speech therapy practice serving Chicago’s North Shore. We are centrally located in Glencoe, Illinois. Our goal is to provide a positive, fun and warm environment that encourages and motivates children to master fundamental communication skills.

This is a very unique opportunity to join a boutique, growing pediatric speech practice from the ground floor. Your responsibilities will include conducting evaluations, writing reports, planning for and conducting treatment sessions, maintaining accurate and timely documentation, and interacting with and building relationships with families.

The ideal candidate is driven to make a difference in children’s lives. The heart of our practice is our clients. We conduct sessions in-clinic and in-home, both privately and through Illinois Early Intervention.

Schedule and work hours are very flexible. Part-time or full-time opportunities are available.

Meet new local business owner Jamie Silverman!

Jamie is a pediatric speech-language pathologist and owner of The Little Speech Clinic, a pediatric private speech therapy practice located in Glencoe. The Little Speech Clinic is dedicated to helping children reach their fullest potential whether it's helping kids say their first words, improve social language skills, articulate speech sounds, or anything in between. Each session is individualized to best support each child's specific skills, aiming to make therapy a fun and enjoyable experience that is also effective!

Jamie opened her practice in June 2020 out of the desire to deliver the highest quality of care to her clients. She wanted to create a business where she could give each and every one of her clients the time and energy they deserve. As soon as a client walks through the door, she is fully dedicated to forming a strong relationship with them and their family and will do everything she can to help them achieve their speech and language goals.

Jamie Silverman, Owner of The Little Speech Clinic, has always been passionate about helping children develop speech and language skills through play-based activities.

“I started volunteering at The Friendship Circle as a young teenager. When I was in high school, I was one of five volunteers chosen to participate in a year-long program in which I was paired with a child to help him develop language skills through play. I worked under a speech-language pathologist who provided training to me and the other volunteers. Ever since my experience at The Friendship Circle, I knew I wanted to pursue a career in speech-language pathology,” explains Jamie.

Jamie followed her dreams and obtained a master's degree from Northwestern University. She became a pediatric speech-language pathologist and has dedicated her career to helping children master fundamental communication skills.

“Whether it’s helping kids say their first words, working on social language, helping kids articulate speech sounds, or anything in between, there is nothing more rewarding to me than seeing my clients progress,” says Jamie.

Originally, Jamie worked at a relatively big multidisciplinary clinic. While the experience was important, Jamie knew that she wanted to open her own private practice.

”I was determined to deliver the highest quality of care to my clients. From the beginning, my goal has been to center my whole practice around my clients. As soon as a client walks through the door, I am fully dedicated to forming a strong relationship with them and their family and will do everything I can to help them achieve their speech and language goals.”

In June, 2020 The Little Speech Clinic was born. It is a boutique pediatric practice dedicated to helping children reach their fullest potential with speech, language, and communication.

“The Little Speech Clinic is fully committed to providing individualized and innovative treatment while capitalizing on children’s strengths and interests to best support their specific needs. My goal is to make therapy a fun and enjoyable experience that is also effective,” says Jamie.

Jamie’s vision for her business was always clear – to create a place that stood true to its name as a “little” clinic. “I always wanted a business where I could give each and every one of my clients the time and energy they deserve,” says Jamie. “I care so much about my clients and the families I work with. There’s nothing more rewarding than watching my clients gain confidence as their communication skills improve.”

When families are unsure of whether or not to see a speech language pathologist, Jamie believes it is always best to be proactive.

“The ‘wait and see’ approach is pretty outdated. You don’t have to wait and see if you think there might be a problem and you don’t have to guess if your child will catch up,” explains Jamie. “Reach out to a speech-language pathologist and ask. We’re always eager to help and can set up an evaluation if warranted.”

Not only does Jamie live in Glencoe, but she practices out of her home. She has helped dozens of North Shore families and has the glowing reviews to show for it.

“We have been seeing Jamie for speech therapy since our son was in Early Intervention. He was immediately drawn to her sweet disposition and caring nature! She is truly passionate about developing speech and language in kids, and it shows in our son’s development. When our son first started speech, he had about 5 words and didn’t communicate at all.
