01/11/2026
is a systems guy who researches and breaks down systems that help structure, organize and enhance daily life. In this week’s email he writes about setting an intention for 2026. This single word self-cue informs one’s focus, inspiring actions and guiding decision making throughout the year.
I have thought long and hard about what that single word could be for me. Honestly I’m still processing 2025. It was intense on many levels for me personally, for our family, for the Jewish community, Israel, political and international communities. Much of that intensity has marched its way into 2026 and where it’s headed is very much unclear.
Since I can’t seem to nail down the word for the year, I have actually chosen two words for the coming week as my North Star in order to direct my focus, ground me as best as possible and inspire my classes.
Strength and Stability
One might argue they are in some ways interchangeable. They are at the very least dependent upon each other in order to take root in any meaningful way. You can’t have stability without an element of strength - physical, mental, emotional - and strength needs a stable foundation - a core, a base, an anchor to emanate from. I could use more of that in many areas of my life.
Join me this week as we build strength and stability together. Let’s see how this intention informs our fitness and stays with us as we take it off the mat and into our world.
