Michael Gonzalez received a defense verdict in Van Nuys Superior Court. The case involved allegations of medical malpractice against a physical medicine physician by a patient who suffered a hip infection following an injection of Platelet Rich Plasma. The case was complicated by allegations of altered medical records. Plaintiff claimed $1.3 Million in damages. The jury returned a 10-2 defense verdict in 3 hours.

DEFENSE VERDICT
Michael Gonzalez received a 12-0 defense verdict in 45 minutes on November 1, 2018.

The case alleged malpractice against a hospitalist who treated a 35 year old father of 3 with complaints of chest pain, jaw pain and shortness of breath. After running tests to rule out acute coronary syndrome the patient was discharged and told to follow up with his primary physician in 2 weeks. 1 week post discharge, the patient returned to the hospital with a return of symptoms. He was diagnosed with a dissecting thoracic aortic aneurysm. Emergency surgery was performed but the patient expired.

Plaintiffs, the 19 year old twin daughters and 14 year old daughter of the decedent claimed loss of support and loss of care, comfort and support in the amount of $3.5 million.
