I am soooo excited to finally be offering TENS rental for my clients. If this program takes off, I plan to add more units. A few of my clients recently have rented or used their own & found them to be extremely helpful. I chose the OBI TENS for ease of use and the boost button for surges. 🤗

For those unfamiliar, A TENS unit is a small, wearable device that sends gentle electrical pulses to your lower back during labor. These pulses help interrupt pain signals and encourage your body to release endorphins, your natural pain relief. It’s non-invasive, drug-free, and gives you control over intensity right when you need it most. A TENS does not take intensity away, however many women report it can help make an unmedicated labor that much more manageable 💙

My son turns 8 today and every morning on his birthday, he asks to watch his birth film. It is one of my most cherished "posessions" and brings tears to my eyes being able to re-live his journey. I recall so vividly how powerful and simultaneously peaceful his birth was. 💙

The way their oldest daughter didn’t leave her side was beyond heartwarming. She was a little mini doula/midwife in the making. It was so sweet to witness her insatiable curiosity about the birth process and how nurturing she was toward her mom. Having children present at birth can normalize how they view the entire process, helping to heal generational trauma surrounding birth. 🥹💙🥰

By looking at these images, you may never guess that her baby was born about an hour later.
Her waters released a couple of hours earlier, before contractions began. With this being her 6th baby, she carried an intuitive knowing that once labor ramped up, it would move quickly.

When I arrived, labor was still very early. I encouraged rest & nourishment, so I went downstairs to make breakfast & care for her 5 girls while she snuggled with her husband in bed. Shortly after, her midwives arrived, along with their friends/sibling doulas.
..and then something shifted...

With everyone in place, she felt safe enough to fully surrender. Her contractions intensified rapidly, moving with strength and purpose.

This is the power of safety in labor. When the mind feels supported and at ease, the nervous system softens, oxytocin flows, and the body can do what it already knows how to do.

Rest throughout labor is equally as essential as movement...💕

Rest allows the nervous system to shift into the parasympathetic state, conserving energy and creating the internal safety needed for labor to unfold.

When a laboring mama is curled into her partner’s body, breathing together, held with love- oxytocin and melatonin rise, guiding contractions with more efficiency and ease.

Stillness doesn’t mean stagnation. Intentional resting positions help to open the pelvis, encourage baby’s rotation, and support descent just as powerfully as movement...sometimes more so.

Birth is a rhythm of movement and rest, effort and surrender.
When rest is prioritized and support is steady,
the body often finds its own way forward..exactly as it needs to. 💓

Join me for Dr. Rhondas event! Over the last year I have been learning how interference within the nervous system can have major impacts on newborns. Birth tension, trauma, tounge ties, etc are all interconnected with the nervous system being the main controller. Come out and learn..because knowledge is power! 💙

Crackers Are Overrated for Morning Sickness

I know.
Everyone says:
“Just eat crackers.”
“Have some toast.”
“Nibble on carbs.”

But carbs alone =
📈 Blood sugar spike
📉 Blood sugar crash
🤢 More nausea
No thank you.

What actually helps?
💪 Protein + balance
Think:
🥚 Eggs + toast
🥜 Apple + peanut butter
🧀 Cheese + crackers
🥣 Yogurt + fruit

Protein keeps things steady.
Steady = fewer “why do I feel so awful” moments. In real life (and in practice), balanced snacks beat plain crackers every time.

BUT if crackers are all you can handle today, you are doing great. 💛

But when you can, add a little protein and help your body out.

Your nausea deserves better than saltines alone.

When people hear the words birth photography, they often imagine only the raw moments...the tender & vulnerable ones meant to be held privately. While those images have their sacred place in your birth story, there’s the golden hour that can reach deeper parts of the heart.

The way we look back in wonder when our children became a big brother or sister, how enamored they were, their involvement in the newborn exam and curiosity about every detail of their new sibling.
