Updates for Iron House CrossFit training!
I’ll be available this week for 1:1 sessions. I AM accepting new clients on Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday.
This Thursday is ladies night! This is a FREE BEGINNER FRIENDLY workout with some fun coaches and socializing afterwards. I will be participating in the workout with all of my moody body parts. If I can do it, literally anyone can! The event is blocked for 2 hours, but the workout itself will not take the entire time. Ladies Night at IHCF
I will be off the April 8th-10th.
If you want to check out what exactly I do, I can book you for a 1/2 hour session! It is important to note that I adapt my training to what YOU need. Your health, mobility, and ability are in your control. No matter what life has thrown at you, you can ALWAYS improve in these areas. Get stronger, move better, be happier. Come see me!

HI! I accidentally posted the wrong days. I will be at Iron House CrossFit on Monday, Wednesday, and THURSDAY!!! I do have lots of goals for returning to a full time schedule within the next year and I hope to be able to work more with women in this community! Stay tuned :)

We’re moving into a new year with new goals. Don’t let anyone make you feel like your goals aren’t worthy of excitement and celebration. If you haven’t come up with a strategy for achieving your goals yet, please reach out! I’m happy to help.
Here is a reminder of what to focus on if you have a Fat Loss goal! Absolutely nothing in here states macronutrient restriction, purchasing fitness or nutrition plans, skinny drinks, fat burners, supplementation, purchasing single use fitness equipment, or purchasing a personal training program.

I am here to help, but I’m never going to say that what I do works for 100% of the population. Anyone that claims that… well… it’s statistically incorrect.

Let’s get smarter this year, not falling for sales gimmicks and anecdotal evidence to convince you to purchase their plans. Someone else’s results is wonderful and inspiring, but that doesn’t mean that it will work for you. You are unique and your time, lifestyle, hobbies, body mechanics, stress levels, injury history, BMR, and energy expenditure is not the same as theirs. Therefore, it may not work for you. It may… but it may not.

Lastly, if it worked for you in the past, but you failed to maintain it, it WAS NOT SUCCESSFUL. Maintenance is the key to a successful healthy lifestyle. If you cannot maintain severe macronutrient restriction or the financial burden of the nutrition or fitness plan for the rest of your life (and you don’t have a medical condition that requires that restriction or plan) it was not successful. Quit wasting your precious life focused on things that do not improve the quality of your life.

Allow me to reintroduce myself:
I’m Sarah. I have been a personal trainer since 2011 after graduating with my Bach in Health Science, with a concentration in exercise and a minor in Art 👩🏻‍🎨
I am NASM certified as a Personal Trainer and Nutrition Coach. I have training in prenatal and postnatal fitness and exercise.
I have a lot of personal experience working to improve my body after experiencing pelvic floor and SI Joint dysfunction.
I have 3 children, 3 postpartum recoveries, and have experienced trauma/non exercise induced injuries, illness, and surgery.
I have experienced chapters of my own weight/body fat loss goals as well as strength and functional movement goals.
There was a point in my recent life when I was unable to walk from the couch to the bathroom without debilitating pain and this is something that has changed my outlook on exercise.
I am currently working towards a body fat loss goal after a very trying year of injury, mental health struggle, and postpartum recovery.
What do I bring to the fitness table?
Empathy and Understanding. Knowledge and Empowerment. Science Based Information and the understanding that Mental Health is priority. Experience.
How can I help you?
I will introduce (or reintroduce) you to fitness that works for your life. My approach is and has △⃒⃘lways been to teach you how to achieve your goal(s) in a safe and life sustaining way.
What is my goal for you?
To show you that you can live your best life without having to pay for ongoing coaching for the rest of your life. To teach you how to make healthy and intentional decisions for the rest of your life. To keep you from regressing. To teach you that there is no such thing as a “before and after”, but △⃒⃘lways a work-in-progress. To emphasize that sometimes progress isn’t aesthetic.
How is my business different?
I will never place the goals of a person as a priority over the situation you are currently in. Weight loss/body fat loss is secondary to taking care of and loving yourself. You should never have to restrict yourself in life or nutrition to achieve your goals. Your goal will not elicit change. Your actions will. Love yourself first and △⃒⃘lways.

⚠️Vulnerability Post ⚠️
I have been very emotional about the changes in my body after my 4th pregnancy, 3rd baby, 3rd round of breastfeeding, and 2nd knee injury.

It is hard enough to be a female in todays society and even harder to be one in the fitness industry.

Do you constantly feel like your body is being judged for some reason? Have you ever been judged on the quality of your work, your education, and your worth strictly by how you look?

I have heard it my whole life.
“I would never trust (insert name) because they look like this?”
“Her muscles are too big and I don’t want to look like that so I won’t work with her”
“She is so bulky and lifts heavy, so I don’t want to lift heavy because I don’t want to look like that.”

Choosing a trainer isn’t like trying on a new dress. You won’t look like them. A good trainer adapts YOUR training goals to a program that fits YOU! A good trainer will design a program that will help you achieve your results, not their own.

Yesterday, I went to target because I made a decision that instead of feeling bad about how I fit into my clothes, I’m going to find clothes that fit MY postpartum/post injury body and give me more confidence.

It was NOT my plan to dislocate my knee again 7 weeks postpartum. It was not my plan to become so depressed I didn’t want to leave my bed for 2 weeks after that. It is ridiculous that I feel like I need to justify how I look to the world because I am being judged as a fitness professional by how I look.

Stop blaming your body and shaming yourself when your clothes don’t fit and try not to judge others based on how their body looks.

I made the decision to buy bigger clothes. Not because I want to stay there for the rest of my life, but to put something on that fits instead of punishing myself by skipping meals or shaming myself.
I want to get up, get dressed, kick ass, and move on.

I KNOW I will achieve my fitness goals and become the healthiest person I can be in this postpartum body again!

It is ok to not be in the best shape of your life all of the time. Everyone struggles. Nothing is permanent!
