This week, we recognize the laboratory professionals who are essential to providing our patients with care.
Behind every treatment decision are precise lab results that guide diagnosis, monitor blood counts, evaluate organ function, and track how a patient is responding to therapy. From identifying blood cancers to ensuring chemotherapy can be given safely, laboratory professionals play a critical role in every stage.
To our lab team, thank you for your expertise, accuracy, and commitment to patient safety. Your work makes a difference every single day.

April is Testicular Cancer Awareness Month πŸ’™

Testicular cancer awareness and early detection can make a life-saving difference, especially for younger men. Testicular cancer is one of the most treatable cancers when detected early, yet many men are unaware of the symptoms or the importance of regular self-exams.

Signs and symptoms to watch for:
β€’ A painless lump or swelling in either testicle
β€’ A feeling of heaviness in the sc***um
β€’ Pain or discomfort in the testicles or sc***um
β€’ Enlargement or tenderness of breast tissue
β€’ A dull ache in the lower abdomen or groin
β€’ Sudden fluid buildup in the sc***um

Not all lumps or changes are cancer, but any unusual changes should be evaluated by a health care provider.

Take a few minutes to learn the signs, perform regular self-checks, and encourage the men in your life to do the same. Awareness saves lives. πŸ’™

April is Head and Neck Cancer Awareness Month. Symptoms of head and neck cancers can sometimes seem minor at first, but recognizing them early can make a meaningful difference in diagnosis and treatment outcomes.

During Head and Neck Cancer Awareness Month, it’s important to understand the warning signs and know when to talk with a healthcare provider.

Common symptoms to watch for include:
β€’ A persistent sore throat
β€’ Hoarseness or changes in the voice
β€’ Difficulty swallowing or pain when swallowing
β€’ A lump or swelling in the neck
β€’ Mouth sores that do not heal
β€’ Persistent ear pain
β€’ Unexplained weight loss
β€’ Red or white patches inside the mouth

While these symptoms may be caused by other conditions, early evaluation helps rule out serious concerns and ensures timely care if needed.

If you or someone you love is experiencing any of these symptoms, consider speaking with a healthcare provider. Awareness and early attention to symptoms can make a real difference. πŸ’™
