The flesh wants what IT wants & the reward is fleeting!
MANY of our desires are NOT what is GOOD FOR US.
BUT GOD DESIRES THE VERY BEST FOR US ALL OF THE TIME!
When we follow Him, we CAN BE OUR BEST SELVES!!!!

💜 What the Vagus Nerve Has to Do with Fibromyalgia

Fibromyalgia feels chaotic — like symptoms come from every direction at once. But there is a deeper connection. So much of fibro ties back to the nervous system — especially one nerve most people never hear about: the vagus nerve.

The vagus nerve is involved in 1,100+ functions, including pain, inflammation, digestion, sleep, mood, energy, immune balance, and the body’s ability to feel calm and regulated. When this nerve is under-active, everything the fibro body struggles with becomes harder.

🌿 How This Shows Up in Fibromyalgia

When the vagus nerve isn’t sending strong “rest, digest, and repair” signals:
• pain stays elevated
• inflammation stays elevated
• digestion becomes irregular
• sleep is disrupted
• the immune system overreacts
• the body stays stuck in stress mode
• crashes come out of nowhere

This is why fibro feels so widespread and unpredictable — the systems the vagus nerve regulates are the ones struggling most.

So when people say, “My body won’t calm down,” “Everything hurts,” or “I’m exhausted but can’t rest,” it’s not in their head. It’s a nervous system that’s overwhelmed and under-regulated.

💜 Stimulation vs. Activation

Humming, deep breathing, meditation, tapping, and cold plunges can stimulate the vagus nerve for a moment. They help temporarily.

But fibromyalgia shifts the most when the vagus nerve becomes activated, not just briefly nudged.

Activation strengthens vagal signaling → the body starts regulating → symptoms have room to soften.

🌿 Why This Matters

Fibro feels like chaos because the vagus nerve isn’t working in harmony with the rest of the nervous system.

Understanding this gives fibromyalgia a framework that finally makes sense — explaining the exhaustion, inflammation, crashes, sensory overload, digestion issues, and sleep struggles.

Fibro isn’t random.
It’s the body asking for regulation and relief.

And when the vagus nerve becomes more active and supported, everything begins to shift.

Pre-Op for Level 6 cervical thoracic revision spine surgery. Fusion C4-T2 & foraminotomy to treat severe spinal stenosis, or compression within the nerve root). New bone was grafted in, in order to promote healing and regrowth of the previously removed degenerate bones that were removed in Level 4 Fusion surgery in 2021. Neurosurgeon Dr Daniel Denis of Oshner Hospital in Kenner, LA. After switching from my orthopedic spine surgeon of 12 years, I am very confident in my new doctor who is not highly skilled and rated. He is a man of honor & integrity, receiving seven patient awards for his outstanding care & medical qualifications. Dr Denis is considered one of the best neurosurgeons in the Louisiana, and I would refer him to every single one of you. He is not only an excellent surgeon, he is compassionate & caring & his main goal is not the money, it being able to give his patients the best quality of life possible! ❤️‍🩹
