Gonzales Healthcare Systems is made up of a number of entities, but at the core is Memorial Hospital, a general acute-care facility. The current facility, built in 1978, follows a tradition of community service begun by the Holmes Hospital, which opened in 1921. Whether entering the system through our Emergency Room, with its Trauma Level IV designation, or as a direct admit from a primary care physician’s office, the patient coming to Memorial Hospital can access state-of-the-art diagnostic and therapeutic services.

As we posted yesterday, our phone system transitioned to a new system this morning. We are experiencing some issues, and some calls may not go through. This is currently being worked on.

🗣️ ANNOUNCEMENT

The next Governing Board Election will be held on Saturday, May 2, 2026 for the purpose of electing five (5) At-Large Directors.

Candidates must reside in, and be a registered voter in the Hospital District.

The filling period for a place on the ballot is: Wednesday, January 14, 2026 to Friday, February 13, 2026 at 5:00PM.

The current At-Large Directors whose terms will expire in 2026 are:

Gene Reed
Sascha Kardosz
David Malaer
Jean Burns

Gonzales Healthcare Systems Welcomes First Baby of 2026

We congratulate parents David & Cecilla Pecina on the arrival of baby Luna Victoria Pecina, who was born on January 2, 2026 at 1:20pm, making her the first baby born at Gonzales Healthcare Systems in 2026. She weighed 7 pounds 1 ounce and was 21 inches long.

The New Year’s baby received a big bag full of baby goodies, including diapers, clothing, and more from Gonzales Healthcare Systems, as well as a wooden rocker from Edwards Furniture… a special gift for a special baby.

Gonzales Healthcare Systems wishes the New Year’s baby and family a healthy and happy new year!

At Sievers Medical Clinic our skilled team of physicians offers comprehensive medical care for infants to seniors. Conveniently located next to Memorial Hospital, our courteous and knowledgeable staff works hard from first contact to make every visit to our offices positive.
