🚨 Summer Heat Warning 🚨

While its been a relatively mild summer so far, temperatures are hitting the triple digits this week. So let's talk about car safety in this crazy heat.

Did you know the inside of a car can reach 120–140°F, or higher, in just minutes — even with the windows cracked?

☀️ That means on a 90°F day, your car can become deadly in less than 10 minutes. Can you imagine when it hits 100°F?

NEVER leave children, elderly adults, or pets in a parked car — not even for a minute. It’s not just dangerous. It can be fatal.

✅ Take them with you — every time

🚨 NEVER leave an elderly person in a hot car — not even for a minute.

Extreme heat can be deadly. Older adults are especially vulnerable to heatstroke and dehydration. In just 10 minutes, the temperature inside a parked car can rise by 20°F or more — even with the windows cracked.

⚠️ Heatstroke can happen fast and be fatal.
👴🏽 Keep your loved ones safe. Always bring them with you or make safe arrangements.
📣 If you see an elderly person left alone in a hot car, call 911 immediately.

It’s heating up out there!

As the summer sun beats down, please remember this:
A car can become a death trap in minutes. Even with the windows cracked, the temperature inside can soar to over 120°F in just 10 minutes. That’s more than enough to cause heatstroke… or worse.

💔 Every year, children, the elderly, and pets tragically lose their lives because they were left in hot cars — even “just for a minute.”

So please, double check.

⏱ No amount of time in a hot car is ok. EVER. For anyone.

We've set up a temperature display in front of THRIVE Healthplex. This display shows the outside temperature as well as the temperature inside the car. The numbers don't lie. It gets HOT.
