For the last two weeks Goshen EMS staff had the opportunity to visit and meet the young members of the Orange County Sheriff's Office, New York Junior Cadet Program. Our staff got the chance to show these potential future first responders the ins and outs of the job and what makes EMS so important in our community!

Last week Goshen EMS staff member Kelly Makuen noticed a post from the Goshen Food Pantry looking for assistance unloading trucks from their recent delivery. Goshen EMS staff headed over with all available units to help out. We are so thankful to be a part of such a wonderful community.

Did you know that Goshen EMS is among the few agencies that hosts EMT students throughout the year ? Goshen EMS proudly provides EMT students with the hands on training needed to meet their NYS requirements. Goshen is excited to host students from the SUNY Orange program above as well as students from SUNY Sullivan, Orange -Ulster Boces, Orange County EMS program, and interns from both Goshen and Chester high-school. Goshen EMS staff guides and supports these students as they navigate this new career. Our incredible staff understands that they could be training a future partner and that is what drives our motivation to do our best for these students.

🚨 Traffic Alert for Goshen Residents 🚨

Just a heads-up! On Thursday, July 24th and Friday, July 25th, expect increased traffic near 17M and River Road by the Amy’s Kitchen property due to a large event with over 12,000 guests anticipated each morning.

Our Town of Goshen Police Department, led by Sergeant Stan Lupinski, will be on top of traffic control to keep everything running smoothly. If you know Sgt. Lupinski, you know you’re in good hands! 👮‍♂️

The goal is for the event to go off without a hitch—and ideally, you won’t even notice it happened.

You can’t have all work and no fun ! Goshen EMS staff participated in a duck hunt last month. 700 tiny ducks were hidden around the station and crews rushed to find them in their downtime to win their shift an ice cream party. Friday shifts were the big winners and got their ice cream party complete with duck trophies!! Great Job Friday shift.

The Orange County Sheriff's Office is operating at a Motor Vehicle Accident in the Town of Goshen.

Hartley Road will be closed between 17M and Cheehchunk & Echo Lake Road for an extended period of time today, Friday, July 18th, 2025.

Only local traffic will be permitted up to the Interstate Waste Facility; no through traffic.

We are an established BLS agency diligently working towards a monumental transition to Advanced Life Support (ALS) services. We are seeking highly motivated and experienced paramedics to be foundational members of our ALS program, helping us build from the ground up and ultimately be the first to provide high quality ALS care in Goshen.

As Founding Paramedics on our Transition Team, you will play a critical role in the preparatory phase of our ALS program launch. While we are not yet an ALS agency, you will be instrumental in developing protocols, training, equipment selection, and operational procedures that will define ALS care in Goshen for years to come. Once our ALS designation is secured, you will be among the very first paramedics to deliver advanced life support to our community.
