At Goshen EMS, we believe training never stops. 🚑
That’s why our team participates in two mandatory drills every month. In EMS, medicine is always evolving, protocols change, and there is always a new skill to learn or an old skill to sharpen.
Training helps prepare our providers for the moments when seconds matter most. It builds confidence, strengthens teamwork, and ensures we can continue providing the highest level of care to our community.
We are proud of the dedication our staff shows by continually learning, practicing, and growing together. Because excellence in emergency medicine starts long before the 911 call comes in.

Today, Goshen EMS remembers and honors the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country. Their courage, dedication, and selflessness will never be forgotten. 🇺🇸
As we spend time with family and friends this Memorial Day, we also keep a special thought and prayer for our friend and employee, Terence Gunter who is serving overseas. We wish him safety, strength, and hope to have him back on our trucks upon his return.
From all of us at Goshen EMS, we wish everyone a safe and meaningful Memorial Day.

Concluding EMS Week, we wanted to share some of the behind-the-scenes moments that make Goshen EMS so special to us.

For many of us, this becomes more than just a place we work — it becomes a second family. Between the calls, shared laughs, late nights, and chaos, we create friendships and memories that last far beyond the shift itself.

We are incredibly grateful for every member of our crews and also for all of the surrounding EMS agencies and mutual aid partners who work alongside us and support one another every day. This job would not be possible without the teamwork, dedication, and relationships built throughout the EMS community.

Thank you to everyone who answers the call. Happy EMS Week from all of us at Goshen EMS ❤️

Happy EMS week. Each day of EMS week has a theme. Today’s theme is EMS for children. Goshen EMS would like to take this time to tell you an incredible story about the little girl in this picture. She is only six years old and happens to be the daughter of one of our amazing crew members. On one of the beautiful sunny days last week she and her dad were fishing at a pond in the next town over. While out on this fishing trip, her father suffered a medical emergency, causing him to become unresponsive, striking his head on the rocks below. This quick thinking little girl calmly called her mom from her smart watch and was able to tell her exactly what happened. Her mother being an EMT herself knew just what to do. What happened next could only be described as a simple twist of fate. Our Lieutenant Frankie DeGennaro was at home only a few minutes away and after a quick call was able to be at her side within five minutes. From there, 911 was called and the neighboring agency was unable to crew sending the call to Goshen EMS. Our crew arrived and was able to transport her dad to the hospital. EMT Julianna Durand and EMT Amanda Wells provided amazing care in route to our local hospital. We are happy to say that her Dad was discharged later that day and is expected to make a full recovery. If it were not for the quick thinking and confidence of this little girl, the outcome may have been very different. Goshen EMS found it only fitting to celebrate her. So before our monthly drill, we surprised her with a party complete with a certificate, a life saver pillow, balloons, hugs and of course, cake! It is so important to teach young ones of any age that they can make a difference. Please talk with your children about how to call 911 and what they can do in case of an emergency. Exposure young ones to emergency service workers in your area. If you live in the Goshen EMS district, please reach out to blschief@goshenems.com to schedule a tour and meet and greet with our team. We are always happy to have children in our station and talk to them about ways that they can make a difference. Once again great job Madelyn! Your Goshen EMS family is so incredibly proud of you.

Thank You also to the rest of the Goshen EMS team members who showed up in support of their peers including the two units who were out operating at multiple calls in the district during the ceremony.
