One of the strongest predictors of weight gain is dieting.
When I learned this fact, I was shocked.
I knew that extreme diets didn’t result in long term weight loss, but weight gain?
Yep!
That’s the opposite of what I was working towards all those years I was doing Weight Watchers, Jenny Craig and all those other trendy diets!
Not only do diets NOT work, but research has proven that they are more likely to leave you with weight gain, a slower metabolism, and a disordered relationship with food, than weight loss.
The Dieting industry is a $71 billion dollar industry with a 95-97% failure rate.
Research shows that while diets may result in immediate weight loss, there is no sustained weight loss after 3-5 years with any diet plan.
Think about it, if there was a medication with a 95% failure rate up for approval from the FDA, it wouldn't be approved. Dieting is known to have an extremely high failure rate, meanwhile medical professionals keep prescribing weight loss as the way to improve health.
If diets don’t work, how are we supposed to take care of our health? The solution is to get off the diet cycle rollercoaster with a non-diet approach that focuses on health habits vs. strict food rules that are unsustainable and painful to follow.
You want to be healthy, feel energized and reduce stress with food.
You don’t want to count every macro, calorie or point that you eat every single meal for the rest of your life. You want a relationship with food that feels free and light without overthinking.
That’s exactly what’s possible in a non-diet approach to health. I’ll be sharing this approach in my Making Peace with Your Plate™ 14-day group coaching program.
If you would love to break up with dieting and finally find peace with food, I want you to know that it’s possible and I would love to support you on this journey.
