I'm Dr. John Macksood, a board certified gastroenterologist with over 27 years of practicing in Genesee county. After semi-retiring, I found myself reflecting on how to best use my extra time, hoping to share what I love in a way that brings comfort and encouragement to my neigh
bors. My journey led me back to three things that have always mattered deeply: Faith, Dogs, and Medicine. I realized there is a special opportunity to weave these together and offer something unique-personal visits that blend compassion,companionship, and caring knowledge. In the world today, I wanted to offer a friendly " house call " service, and instead of bringing food or a ride, bringing warmth and connection. Here is what I'm introducing:
Meet Cali, my Golden retriever certified therapy dog! She loves meeting new people and is ready to bring smiles wherever she goes. About me:
I grew up and remain a practicing Catholic, but revere all forms of Faith in any denomination. I believe that Faith-in all forms- can bring meaning and comfort beyond material distractions. Sharing these moments is a privilege that has become an important part of my life. DDP stands for A Doctor, A Dog, and A Prayer. I offer visits to your home, workplace, or other comfortable space. You can choose any or all of these three elements for your 30 minute visit. Therapy Dog Time: enjoy the company and gentle presence of Cali. Faith : Prayer or discussion, according to your comfort and preferences.
