I can’t wait to join 5waves in June! ❤️❤️❤️

We are honored to welcome Bridget Meranda , MSW, LCSW, RPT™ (she/her) as a speaker at the Sibling Se/ual Trauma and Abuse: Breaking the Silence Conference, the first in-person conference in the United States devoted entirely to sibling se/ual trauma and abuse, a gathering for people ready for honest conversation, real understanding, and meaningful change.

Bridget Meranda, MSW, LCSW, RPT™ — “Navigating the Storm: Parents Supporting their Children & Healing After Sibling Sexual Trauma”

Sibling se/ual trauma places parents in an almost impossible position: trying to protect and support the child who was harmed while also responding to the needs of the child who caused harm — all while coping with their own shock, grief, fear, and trauma.

Drawing on both her professional expertise as a licensed therapist specializing in childhood trauma and her personal experience as a parent, Bridget offers a rare dual perspective on what families actually face in the aftermath.

This session will explore the complex emotional and practical realities of parenting through sibling se/ual trauma, including how trauma impacts the entire family system, how parental secondary trauma affects decision-making and emotional regulation, and why even well-intentioned responses can feel overwhelming or inadequate in the moment.

Participants will gain insight into how safety and connection support regulation for both parents and children, how co-regulation can occur when everyone is triggered, and how healing becomes more possible when families are supported rather than isolated. Bridget will also address ways to rebuild stability, connection, and hope during a time when many families feel fractured and unsure of what to do next.

Grounded in lived experience and clinical knowledge, this presentation offers validation, education, and practical guidance for navigating one of the most misunderstood family crises — with compassion for every member of the family system.

This conference is intentionally small, deeply focused, and built for connection, not just information. If you’ve been waiting for a space where this topic is addressed with care and lived-experience, this is it.

🎟️ Early bird tickets are available now, and space is limited.
Secure your spot before prices increase on February 28.

Sibling Se/ual Trauma and Abuse: Breaking the Silence is the first in-person conference in the United States devoted entirely to sibling se/ual trauma and abuse (SSTA).

Hosted and organized by 5WAVES, this pioneering event brings together survivors, caregivers, clinical practitioners (therapists), and advocates, all in one room, as this issue has been overlooked for far too long.

Our goal is to raise awareness, share specialized knowledge, and foster healing-centered dialogue grounded in lived experience.

We also know that for many survivors, even considering attending something like this can bring up fear, anxiety, and a lot of questions. Please know this: we are thinking carefully about how people arrive, where they stay, and how supported they feel once they’re there.

We’re actively planning clear guidance around lodging options (hotel vs. dorm-style), transportation, places to eat, and ways to participate that respect privacy and personal boundaries — including name tag and photography options.

We’re creating a space that didn’t exist when many of us needed it most:
one rooted in lived experience, integrity, and care.

Early bird pricing is now open and ends February 28.
Access matters, and early bird helps make this conference possible.
