Many years ago, I had pneumonia for the second time, and the doctor wanted to hospitalize me. I had two small children to take care of and couldn't afford to miss work, much less a hospital bill. My mom's friend told us about mustard bath, and I was amazed at how much it helped me. I recently started testing out various combinations of ingredients, and I think I've developed a good one! A soak in the bathtub with a scoop of this opens your pores, promotes sweating, detoxifies the body, relieves cold and flu symptoms, reduces stress, increases circulation, and can aid in the healing of skin conditions. Yep, that's me. I bet you're wondering how I got here. I have always loved to grow things, and getting my hands (and often my bare feet) into the soil has always been therapeutic for me. Well, it turns out that there is science to back that!

In 2011, my husband and I were able to take a three-day trip to Shanghai, China with a group of teachers from all over the country. We were able to visit a traditional tea shop and tasting, and I learned so much about the medicinal uses of the herbs and flowers that I love to grow.

I started researching, planted new seeds, and started blending teas to help my family and friends. We joke about how this is how I force my love on people. Someone complains of an ailment, and they will quickly hear, "I have a tea for that!"

In the fall of 2025, some wonderful friends offered for me to have a booth at their Witches' Faire and thus was born SerendipiTEA Teas & Tinctures. I grow the majority of my ingredients and blend a variety of teas, tinctures, poultices, ointments, and bath soaks. I truly believe that we were given so much to take care of ourselves, but that knowledge has been disregarded and discarded over the years. I want to help bring that back.
