Postpartum hair loss is completely normal and about 40-50% of new moms experience noticeable hair loss caused by falling estrogen levels.
If you’re experiencing , here are some things to know:
💡there’s light at the end of the tunnel. Typically, postpartum hair loss lasts for about six months!
🤱 Breastfeeding has no impact on postpartum hair loss.
🧖♀️ There is no fix but try to be extra gentle with your hair while washing, brushing and styling and avoid tight hairstyles that put strain on your scalp and hair.

Here are a few helpful tips to help you prepare for birth:
🤰🏾Make your birth plan. Often times in labor, things change quickly. Having a birth plan allows you to prepare for these changes should adjustments need to be made making the moment less stressful.
🤰🏻Create a playlist that curates a calming, encouraging environment that allows you to feel at peace. Side note: this doesn’t have to be zen spa music. If Metallica, Lil Wayne or Lady Gaga is part of your happy place, include it. This is about creating a space where you feel your best!
🤰🏼Delegate post labor tasks. It may be uncomfortable but you will thank yourself later. Ask a friend to grab your weekly grocery pick up, lean on your village for help with laundry and dishes while visiting, reach out to in laws or family to help cook.
🤰🏽Stay Hydrated + Stretch! Drinking water and stretching your hips will prepare you both labor + recovery. Stretching your hips will prepare your body for the proper position needed to give labor and drinking enough water will decrease your chance of dehydration.

Studies show 1 in 8 women experience Postpartum Depression but did you know this stat drastically decreases when a Doula care is provided? This is mainly because Doulas discuss fears and concerns about parenthood, work with you to develop a detailed plan for the transition that makes you feel supported and are trained to spot early signs of PPD.
Some signs of Postpartum Depression include:
• feeling uninterested in your baby
• feelings of hopelessness
• severe anger or irritability
• mood swings
• trouble concentrating or making decisions
If you’re experiencing these symptoms, contact your OBGYN and set up an immediate appointment. If you’re an expecting mama, set up an appointment with me and let’s discuss your postpartum support plan and ways we can set you up for success during the fourth trimester. 👏

Welcome Maeve! I’m forever grateful for the opportunity to support your family. Your sweet mom was totally studied up and prepared on how she wanted to birth you! Your mom labored and birthed like the boss she is. As your mom labored your dad read the affirmations she wrote to her it was so beautiful. (Be sure to ask for the video) Although you made your family wait until your exact due date your were truly worth the wait. Maeve you have the best big brother in the world as you grow bigger I can’t wait to see the adventures you two have together. It was my pleasure to serve you guys. With ❤️ your doula!

During labor, I wear many hats and provide many services. Giving you words of encouragement, walking you through breathing exercises, keeping you up to date with what’s happening, calling family with updates and giving your partner a break when needed are just a few. Basically, anything you need to have a more peaceful, safe and comfortable delivery, it is my pleasure to assist with. 💕

Welcome Kayden! I’m blessed to have had the opportunity to serve your family. Your sweet mom did everything she was suppose to to ensure that you had the absolute best start possible. The day before your birth your mom went in and was determined that I didn’t come to early and I honored her wishes as long as I could. I called around 7pm and I asked/told her I was on my way. Once I arrived I met your amazing grandparents that I had heard so many wonderful things about! As the time passed it was your mom, dad and I waiting patiently on your arrival. You began to have to much of a party in the womb so our plans changed. As plans changed I covered you, your mom and dad in prayer. You parents know good music so we joked that we hope you would not be born to Return of the Mack but indeed you were! KT and Bear it was truly my pleasure to walk with you on your journey into parenthood! Love you guys!!

Often times I am asked “Does a doula replace my partner or nurse?” and the answer is No. Not at all.
My role as your doula is to be a constant for you and your partner, to mentally and emotionally prepare you for labor and postpartum. To be there for reassurance and support, to bring a sense of calm, and to educate you on your options if your birth plan doesn’t go as planned. My role is to get you both to the finish line. 💕

Welcome Reed! Your entire family especially your two little sisters. You had your mom wait 40 plus weeks to meet you but you guys labored beautifully together in just 2 hours you arrived en caul. As your mom labored with you your dad read beautiful scriptures to your mom. Your birth was a true testament of your parents praying believing and petitioning GOD to birth their way. No interventions, unmedicated and no tearing. It was my pleasure to serve you guys!

Welcome sweet boy!! I was at the gym when your mom called frantic that she would have to be induced. Your sweet mom did all the things to ensure that she would be prepared for your birth. On induction day I arrived just after the first round of cytotec was placed. My client ordered her lunch and we sat and chatted about all the things. I will never forget the look on her face when she asked me if this would kick her into labor where she wouldn’t need pitocin. I told her that was hopeful that it would work. After two rounds of the medicine she was in active labor. Active labor kicked in at 2am and she had a baby by 5am. Although we had to deviate from her birth wishes she still had an unmedicated birth. I coached them through it but mom mentally prepared for labor and birth. This family was a joy to serve!

On June 15th a sweet baby boy was born! This sweet boy made his amazing mom wait over 40 weeks to meet him(3rd time mom). Prodromal labor happened for majority of the day but once active labor kicked in things progressed quickly. With my support and the guidance of her amazing midwife and birth assistant this sweet baby made his way into his mother’s arms.Thank you for allowing me to serve your sweet family! Love you guys!!
