If you’re curious about Intuitive Eating, check out this article in the latest issue of magazine! 💯

I introduce the framework and give some points to consider for getting started.

I’ve been a bit absent on socials recently, but I’m still providing individual nutrition counseling services and workshops, and have recently started taking insurance (more on this soon)!

AND - I’m still firmly rooted in the belief that a non-diet approach to nutrition is the most healthful and ethical way to practice.

Honored to speak at the conference this year ❤️

My topic: Semaglutide and GLP-1 medications: Can They Coexist With Intuitive Eating?

This topic is massive! And the answer? Maybe…

Lots of points to consider with this one: screening process, education/support provided, and current & past eating habits and body image thoughts. To name a few.

Sharing a couple takeaways:

➡️ These medications are tricky. I don’t love them, or this craze. And I don’t think they’re right for everyone. But they’re EVERYWHERE! And I do fully support a person’s food and body autonomy. I think it’s important we as dietitians are fully informed, so we can help support and educate those who may be interested in learning more about these meds.

➡️ Each person even thinking of beginning these meds should be given a LOT of consideration first. Then provided proper screening, and ample care and support. Having an informed dietitian on board is essential.

We in the science and nutrition community still have a lot to learn! For now, I’m grateful for the opportunity to share and discuss with a room full of nutrition experts.

Stepping into 40 with so much wonder 🎉

This new decade of life has me reflecting on what I’ve learned and feel sure of. But also holding so much space for all that I don’t know.

Because now, more than ever, I’m sure that I have SO much to learn. And letting go of the idea that I have to know everything is f’ing delightful 👏

Thanks for being here, and helping me to listen & stay curious. Cheers 🖤

Quiet moments I’ve been grateful for lately:

1. Time with my pup, Charles, who’s almost 13 years old and is just the very best
2. A pot of warm tea on a cold day
3. Holding hands with my daughter
4. A lovely meal shared with family
5. My office, which I’m proud of and grateful to have

I’m working on staying present & appreciating the small stuff right now.

Thanks for being here 💙

A little info on what to expect when you begin pursuing intuitive eating, in stages.

Everyone experiences these stages in their own unique way. Which is cool, as one of the goals of intuitive eating is to allow food and body autonomy 🙌

Gentle nutrition is a great way to stop being a jerk to yourself 🙃

It’s the tenth principle in the framework for intuitive eating, a non-diet approach to nutrition.

Choosing this approach honors your health and well-being, while allowing autonomy, flexibility, and enjoyment in eating and in your life.

I liked this photo of me in New York in the rain.

What a cool place. Milli Vanilli was in my head because - rain. And I’m an elder millennial. 👋

Sometimes I like photos of myself and sometimes I don’t. It’s normal, especially in our current culture. Most people I work with feel this way.

As a word nerd, I like to call the not-so-great body image days “disrupted.” Does this resonate?

If so, check out my latest blog offering tips to handle a disrupted body image moment.
