I've been using this as a daily affirmation since I saw it posted a few weeks ago. This season between Thanksgiving and Christmas is quite honestly really chaotic. It's fun, and I'm grateful, but I often find myself very overwhelmed trying to juggle all of the commitments, birthdays, holidays, visitors, parties, etc. I have trouble being present and really enjoying the moment, because most of the time my mind is already on to the next task ahead. This year I'm really trying to focus on these specific words "be all there."
How do you stay present in the moment? Any tips?
Tonight we are hosting the first stop on our blocks 3rd Annual Progressive Dinner. Guess how many times I've hosted? 3...I can't say no. Honestly, I really love hosting. I love our home. It's cozy and I enjoy gathering people in it. I used to try and make elaborate appetizers, cocktails, clean, decorate to the 9's. I just can't anymore. A season of life will come again where I can do that, but it's not right now. It left me exhausted and stressed out and by the time the party came, I just wanted it to be over! With 2 young kids, another on the way, and a husband that works a lot, I outsource. This year I ordered a 🧀 , salami and dried fruit tray from The Cheese Lady Grand Rapids (one of my favorite local shops!), bought some appetizers I can warm up quickly as I was sampling my way through Costco last Sunday, and got a few bottles of Brut Rose 🍾 and some winter beers 🍻 from Martha's Vineyard yesterday(Grand Rapids friends isn't this place the best?!) I spent my time this morning when I had a sitter doing a few last minute errands and going to my favorite yoga class at Yoga Fever 🧘🏻♀️ lead by Laura Stob-Glerum with my ladies 🙂 I feel relaxed, refreshed and ready for tonight!
Hope you all have a safe and festive weekend. Lots of love. ❤️
