Honored to be in the Vendor Spotlight for Fulton Street Market’s April Newsletter! Thank you.
“Rooted in a lifelong fascination with herbs and a family legacy of farming, Suzannah of BarrieBeau Herb Farm turned a high-stress career as a court reporter into something far more grounded. After discovering her own green thumb, she began crafting herbal products and realized quickly that their quality far surpassed anything she could buy. What started as a personal practice blossomed into BarrieBeau Herb Farm, where she has spent decades cultivating, harvesting, and handcrafting every product with care.
Today, Suzannah finds joy in both the creative and physical aspects of her work, from dreaming up new food and skincare offerings to tending the land itself. Each product is made entirely with her own hands, using recipes she’s developed over years of experience, and tested in her own daily life. While the work is deeply fulfilling, it’s not without challenges, from the physical demands of farming working against the realities of aging to increasing external pressures like commercial land development and rising supply costs.
Through it all, Fulton Street Market has played a vital role in supporting her business. The market offers not just a place to sell, but a space to connect – where relationships with customers and fellow vendors help build trust, collaboration, and community. Looking ahead, Suzannah is focused on deepening those direct connections, as well as continuing her work in teaching, public speaking, and health coaching, all while continuing her work to strengthen and advocate for farmers markets across Michigan as the vice president of the Michigan Farmers Market Association.”
