Wishing you the merriest and coziest holiday season 💛⠀

I am so thankful we get to hang out together here. I like to think of them as virtual coffee dates. Sometimes they are full of laughs. Or a good story. Or one where the bags are set down and hearts are shared. ⠀

I am humbled and honored and man, thanks for being the best coffee date around. The internet is a vast and wide void, but it always feels cozy here. I always have a seat and space for you and thanks for pulling up a chair for me⠀

I went back to read what I wrote as my guiding word for 2020 and it was ‘open’. Open to new chapters, new friends, new adventures. 😂⠀

I meannnnn, it makes me laugh, but also man, it feels like the world of the year and the opposite of the year. So much of this year felt like a closing down (literally and figuratively) and getting quiet. But it opened me up to lots of stuff too. ⠀

Sending you lots of love and light and merriment 😘💛⠀

Hugs ☕️⠀

And ps! Last day for enrollment and to snag the Modern Hand lettering course with The Everygirl! 💛✒️💕

This Christmas season sure looks different than last year (I can barely read that with a straight face- biggest understatement ever)⠀

Aside from the obvious glaring-blaring- changes of 2020, we have our own changes. ⠀

We are back in our home state of Michigan ⠀
We have very minimal decorations up (but a s-load of garland, ya feel me?)⠀
We don’t have a tree (short term apt woes)⠀
We are in the process of building our new home ⠀
And while feeling ‘very merry’might feel tough⠀

I am channeling all the merriment & joy because of you⠀
Thank you for being my bright light of 2020⠀
Thanks for sharing the joy and celebrating new chapters ⠀
Thanks for it all 💛⠀

You are merry. ⠀
You are joy. ⠀
And I’m sending you lots of love ☕️☕️⠀

Ps— Tickets for my Hand lettering workshop with are still on sale but for a limited time! Tickets available till 12/22 🌲❤️ All you need is a pencil. Made for beginners. Made for you 😘

About four years ago I discovered lettering through a local chalkboard workshop. What was a fun night out in the winter, stirred something inside my heart. ⠀

I would practice for hours on the weekend. I struggled to make the vision I had in my head appear on the paper. I continued to practice and that lead the me to creating this little corner of the internet here. ⠀

As time passed I started collaborating and working with local boutiques, completing custom wedding work, and dabbled in making my own print line. ⠀

I started to dream up creating my own in person workshop. Workshops were magical. I loved learning new things as an adult that tapped into our sleepy creative souls. ⠀

Teaching a workshop wasn’t that far of a leap from my day job as a teacher. I started to craft my own workbook and really plan a workshop that was made for beginners. ⠀

My goal: Every skill set would be welcomed and I’d also teach every single tip and trick I’ve learned. ⠀

My in-person workshops were (and still are) one of my most treasured aspects of this journey. Each class had its own secret magic sauce, but the good energy is always the same. ⠀

I would get asked for online workshops all the time, but I so hesitant because I couldn’t see how to get past the in-person connection. ⠀

Enter 2020. After fertility journey that made my heart want to pause, the soon after went on pause, the timing felt right. ⠀

I am so utterly excited to announce that I have teamed up with to create a hand lettering course made with you in mind. Made with so much love and cheesy jokes and support. I really love the thing we made and if you are interested head to & to learn more. ⠀

Thanks you always for cheering me on and being on this wild ride with me 💛💛⠀

Energy, flow, habits, routines— ⠀

I’ve felt it coming. The slip between the seasons. The changes in daylight. How my routines have shifted without me really realizing until it all kinda built up. ⠀

I haven’t been moving like I should. The late morning sun and early evening sunset changed the rhythm I had going on and it shifted what I had started. ⠀

Y’all, I realized I wasn’t even drinking h2o which is a big ole no-no. ⠀

So this is my check-in reminder to you. ⠀

Take care of yourself In the ways that you need it. ⠀
Drink water. ⠀
Try and get sleep. ⠀
Wake up early if you need to bank some “me time”. ⠀
Journal. ⠀
Move your body. ⠀
Eat some vegetables. ⠀
Make a soup. ⠀
Take a bath. ⠀
Read a book. ⠀
Move and rest. ⠀

What else is on your self-care list? The season is only going to get fuller and crazier. Find your boundaries. Make you list of “must have self-care” and be the bad ass you are. ⠀

Hugs and warm mugs 💛💛⠀

Ps- News// Holiday workshops are now live! I have only three workshops scheduled and seats are limited. Link in bio for more info. ⠀

Little efforts can make a big impact. ⠀

Painting our kitchen backsplash is one of my favorite things we have done in this house. ⠀

I originally thought of it as a temporary fix, but here we are 9ish months later and I’m completely smitten with the whole thing. It’s durable, easily wipeable, and I haven’t had any issues with it. ⠀

For the kitchen we painted our backsplash and replaced the hardware with heavy polished nickel hardware. ⠀

The original tile felt too busy and too dark in this space for me. It was a mix of glass and concrete small mini tiles in shades of brown, black and gray. I would 100% do it again in a heartbeat. ⠀

If you’re curious how it’s done, I wrote a step-by-step guide and you can find the link in my bio. ⠀

What’s a small project you’ve done that has made you completely smitten? Or a little bit of effort you put in that’s given you major happiness? ⠀

I’m a low key holiday gal, but this phrase says it all for me. ⠀

I love the magic of the season, but I feel like I’m lacking in the traditions department. I‘m craving more fun and simple traditions to add in to help us savor the holidays and build some memories that will get excited year after year. ⠀

Growing up, I absolutely loved to go cut down our Christmas tree. We would take what felt like an incredibly long car ride (probably 30 minutes) and hot cocoa with marshmallows was always the finishing treat. We’d walk around and gaze at each and every tree till we found the one for us. ⠀

What traditions do you have? What do you love to do every holiday season? I want to step up my game and create some new memories — leave ‘em below. ⠀

P.s. this new doormat I made for the shop is my absolute absolute favorite. How cheerful is ‘very merry’? It’s like a rug version of hot cocoa with marshmallows 😂⠀

Hugs and warm mugs ☕️☕️ ⠀

I’ve been trying to incorporate more gratitude and practices of gratitude into my routine. ⠀

So in the morning I gather up coffee, slip on some cozy socks, and snuggle in to journal small moments of gratitude before I begin my day (I use the )⠀

I try to focus on the small stuff. Because of course I’m grateful for my family and friends, but what small moments was I grateful for in the last day. The little moments that happened. ⠀

Some days it’s hard for me to see the smaller moments. And it serves as reminder there is so much goodness right in front of me. Big and small. And I need to make sure I see it. ⠀

So here are my five moments in the last few hours and I encourage you to share any moments that have happened to you in the last 24 hours⠀

1.) Laughing with Steve till my stomach hurt⠀
2.) Steve’s smile when he walked in the door⠀
3.) Stella’s wiggly b***y when she woke up and greeted me. ⠀
4.) Warm comfort of chicken soup ⠀
5.) Feeling of joy while working on custom orders. ⠀

Sending you warm wishes for the day ahead. Hugs and warm mugs ☕️☕️ ⠀
