Process-Based Therapy (PBT; Hofmann, Hayes & Lorscheid, 2021) focuses on targeting underlying psychological processes rather than specific diagnoses or symptoms. It is defined as the contextually specific use of evidence-based processes linked to evidence-based procedures to help clients improve in directions most meaningful to them. PBT tailors interventions to meet a person's specific needs at a given point in time, rather than applying a one-size-fits-all approach. This workshop will introduce attendees to the PBT approach including the foundational science of the extended evolutionary meta-model and training in the network model for case conceptualization. No clinical training of attendees is required or assumed. How Process-Based Therapy can be used to guide oneโ€™s personal sport psychology practice will be emphasized. Attendees will leave with practical skills they can begin using with their clients immediately.

๐—ช๐—ต๐˜† ๐˜๐—ต๐—ถ๐˜€ ๐˜๐—ผ๐—ฝ๐—ถ๐—ฐ? Because over the years I have been frustrated trying to fit diverse athletes into standard protocols that ignored their individual needs and presentations. PBT has increased my flexibility with clients and I want to share this process with you.

Check out the slides for a sneak peek and I'll see you Saturday!

Many thanks to Queens University of Charlotte for honoring our Mental Performance Team on Friday night. AD Cherie Swarthout presented Dr Patrick Young, CMPC and I with game balls on Atrium Night. It is truly an honor to serve the student-athletes and coaches at Queens. I appreciate how they have embraced me in the short time Iโ€™ve been here.

Compartmentalizing your life isnโ€™t about ignoring your problems or pretending they donโ€™t exist.

This leads to better focus, reduced stress, and ultimately, higher performance in your sport.

In a nutshell, autocratic leadership is a style where the leader calls all the shots.

An autocratic leader is decisive, controlling, and directive.

They prefer to maintain a strong grip on all aspects of the team's operations.

While this might sound a bit harsh, there are situations where autocratic leadership can be incredibly effective.
