This new flower bowl has a very special name. 🌸

We made it for a little girl named Visalia who loves creating candles and dreaming up beautiful things. Her creativity, her wicked sense of humor, and her bright spirit inspire us every day!!

So this flower bowl will forever carry her name.
Visalia’s Flower. 🌸

Visalia is also bravely fighting childhood cancer. If you feel called to support her journey or cheer on the candles she creates, you can follow her family’s page here: Team Boogy - Fighting B-cell ALL 🧡💜

We got to bust out of the joint!! We can't thank everyone enough for all the love, prayers, help, meals, everything!!! We are so appreciative!! We'll keep Boogy at home for awhile longer, since she's neutropenic and susceptible to infections and we want to make sure we're no longer contagious. Hopefully she can continue to get better and we don't have anymore fevers!

Boogy is feeling tons better! She had a really good night and got a ton of rest finally! No fever since yesterday afternoon. The doctors said if she can continue to do well today and tonight, then we can go home tomorrow!

One of our favorite clinic nurses ran up to deliver a valentine goodie bag for her! He's always giving the kids all the good snacks and treats!

Not the update I expected I'd be giving considering how good Boogs felt yesterday. I thought for sure we'd be bustin out of the joint today or tomorrow.

She woke at 3am with a fever. They did more cultures and new antibiotics. She's having a lot of pain today. Her numbers actually made a big jump in the right direction, so the doctors were hoping the new fever and pain was from her body working so hard. Another fever does require a 24 hour stay regardless though. She felt ok all morning and then about an hour ago started "losing her fun and fading" as she says. She fell asleep and I noticed her cheeks were pretty flushed so we checked her temp and another fever. So our 24 hours starts again.

The doctor did say, sometimes the numbers will jump like this then plummet again. So they'll be watching for that. They have a bunch of cultures running and other things, hopefully something starts helping or they get some answers on if there's something underlying.

Also if you could send some extra love to Derek and Reata, they're also still fighting this cold. Derek has a sinus infection and Reata an ear infection. They got meds and will hopefully be feeling better soon! Its a brutal one!

Boogy's numbers lowered more, not as big of drops as they have been but the doctors want to err on the side of caution and wait till we see a rise in counts before she's released. They're hoping to see some improvement tomorrow, or at least leveling out. She does seem to feel slightly better today and her nose is finally runny, so at least stuff is trying to move out now! She built a Lego and did some music therapy. She even sang between coughing fits in the shower and all the nurses could hear her, they loved it!

One of Boogy's doctors just came in, he said her ANC is still dropping, she has a slight case of pneumonia but they're not tremendously worried yet since she's on antibiotics still. He was happy with her temp for the last 24 hours. We do think she had a missed fever in the night, she woke up soaking wet but it broke on its own so thats good. She is having tummy issues so they're going to keep a close eye to make sure she doesn't have cdiff. So far all her blood cultures are good. She got up and walked around a bit this morning but now she's very lethargic from it. She did eat more last night than she has since Wednesday. Unfortunately this morning she's back to no appetite but at least she got a tiny bit in her tummy last night.

She does have a suggestion for her hospital, to add steak, shrimp and lobster to the menu 😂 We're raising kids who won't be cheap dates! Keeping those standards high 🧡

Boogy was life flighted to her oncologist tonight.
We are so, so thankful for our local hospital who's taken such amazing care of her, she just started getting worse and we felt more comfortable being with her team.

Life flight got us here safely and quickly. Her team had her all set up, cultures, labs, xrays, everything seamless and quickly. Her doctor came and checked on her, we went over everything, she said we'll be here for a bit.

Boogy had a bit of a rough time with it all, lots of flashbacks from how things went at diagnosis. She's better now that we're settled but it was definitely surreal for us.

She told the life flight crew all about Pedro, and how to be tough and always stay positive, even if you're scared. We're all very lucky to live in her world 🧡

Childhood Cancer is bigger than Super Bowl 60. Each year, more than 400,000 kids worldwide get cancer and more than 100,000 will die from it. We still are using some chemical meds that are more than 60 years old! Tell everyone, legislators, NCI, NIH, and others to stop calling "RARE" and start calling it a "PRIORITY!"

Boogy's had a rough couple days. Thursday she came to the ER and got antibiotics. She had an extremely rough night that night, so in the morning her team said to go get fluids, labs and reassesed. Luckily one of our very favorite doctors was our ER doctor, he's who delivered her and who saved her by having labs done when we originally brought her in, not realizing she had cancer. So he's very, very special to our family! He took the very best care of our poor sick baby, which we expect nothing less, he always has. He had her do fluids, another round of antibiotics and then we decided to be admitted for observation overnight and to continue fluids. She slept way better, she still feels like she's not much better but at least she has some hydration and sleep now 🧡 We're sure lucky to have a doctor and nurses who listen and take such good care of Boogy when we are at home. Her oncology team is 4 hours away, so its always very nerve-wracking to not be with them when she has problems. I can't express the relief it is to have people here we can trust!

Also, look at all that hair! She slept most the day in the ER and when she woke up and looked in the mirror she said, "I must of slept like a chicken! Look at this bird hair sticking up!"
