Teen Health & Prevention Coalition

Teen Health & Prevention Coalition We promote evidence based, biologically accurate sexual health and prevention information to enhance the future success of the youth in Madison and St.

Clair County in Southern Illinois, USA. COALITION MISSION:

To reduce sexually transmitted diseases and teen pregnancy through sexual education and awareness with the help of community stakeholders and parental involvement. Our goal is to reduce teen pregnancy, sexually transmitted diseases and HIV/AIDS among youth. Recent data has shown that teen pregnancy and birth rates have decreased in the US. However, rates among non-Hispanic black teen girls remain much higher than rates for teens overall. The Coalition is focused on decreasing teen pregnancy and birth rates by providing community education and collaborating with community stakeholders to maximize resources. In addition, we network with community agencies, schools, churches, etc., to equip youth and other community members with necessary resources and services.
