Announcing two beautiful new children's books, Loving Kindness and Peaceful Mind, made in collaboration with His Holiness the Dalai Lama and DK Books. Mindfulness can be practiced at all ages, and even the early stages of life. These books allow adults and young children to practice meditation, ideal for a calming activity before bed or to diffuse difficult situations. Some years ago, I saw in TIME Magazine, they were advertising a book called: Mindfulness, The New Science of Health and Happiness. It reminded me of when the Spanish came to America, and they "discovered" it, like somebody had lost it? It was a new continent. The fact that people had been living there for thousands of years didn’t matter. And so likewise, mindfulness is now a "new" science because scientists have just discovered it.

What's on your mind? What is mind? What is the nature of mind?

A few key questions to begin each day.

In Buddhist practice, this is what we do. Look inward, deeply, to understand the nature of mind and its functions.

Habits and predispositions are just what we have picked up using the mind while not understanding its true nature. Then we mistakenly confuse these for mind itself.

Oops! Better check up, look into that.

Have a lovely day,

Every action we do, not merely meditation but throughout our daily life, should be motivated by the desire for enlightenment for the sake of all beings. Everything that we do throughout our day should be motivated by the twin aspects of wisdom and compassion. In other words, everything we do should be basically for the sake of awakening our innate wisdom in order to help all other sentient beings to wake up also to their own innate wisdom.
