As spring draws near, a fresh snowfall has come with the gentle reminder that there is no rush to bloom. That it is ok to rest here for a bit longer, in the quiet, peaceful nature of a fresh blanket of snow. It has given us an opportunity to sink below the surface once more, where all light grows dim, and the noise of the outside world fades away. It is an opportunity to reconnect with your own inner light. To ask yourself, “what do you need?” And “what must you let go of?” in order to bloom when the time is here.

It can be so easy to try and jump right into the next season. Especially when we know the fruits of our labor are near. When a season of celebration and rebirth is just around the corner. But, when we bloom too quickly, we risk loosing all of our hard work to the last frost.

So, how can we strengthen the foundations beneath us, and nurture ourselves in this time of transition?

Spring is a time of rebirth, but in order to bloom we must first clear away the debris of our inner gardens.

The snow has come to say that for some of us, it is not yet time to bloom, rather it is a time to rest.

To draw attention to what lives below the surface of our inner world, so we may bring love to the shadows, and aspects of self that may be harder to see when everything is in full bloom.

So, it is ok if you don’t feel like blooming just yet. It is ok to sit in the darkness a while longer. Soak up all the nutrients you need.

Spring will come soon enough. And just as winter will bloom into spring, so will you. ❄️🌷
