🎨✨ Celebrating Black History Month at Kids Ahead! ✨🎨

This week in our Kids Ahead After School Program, our young artists honored Black History Month during art time by learning about the incredible artist Alma Thomas and drawing inspiration from her vibrant, joyful style.

Alma Thomas was known for her bold colors, beautiful patterns, and expressive brushstrokes that celebrated beauty and hope. Inspired by her work, our students created their own bright, colorful masterpieces filled with movement and imagination! 🌈🖌️

Through this activity, students not only explored abstract art, but also learned about an influential African American artist who broke barriers and made history in the art world. We are so proud of their creativity and the meaningful conversations we shared. 💛✨

🌱 Kids Ahead Lenten Kindness Drive 💜

This Lenten season, Kids Ahead is choosing kindness! Instead of candy and treats, our students will be earning Kindness Cards for going above and beyond to show compassion—at school and at home. The grade that collects the most cards will get to choose the snack for our Kindness Party after Spring Break! 🎉

This year, we are supporting the PDY&F Community Garden. Our students recently learned about the garden’s impact on fighting food insecurity, and Mr. James Gardner visited to share how the garden helps our community grow fresh food using innovative methods. It was such a meaningful experience!

Families can support their child’s acts of kindness with a small donation, and all funds raised will go directly to PDY&F. You can also:
