Mrs. Pearson (one of our wonderful Kindergarten teachers ) has a child who is helping the Greensboro Youth Council collect gently used toys for children in need through their Santa’s Workshop!

If you have toys your kids have outgrown—but are still in great shape—please send them to school with your child on Monday or Tuesday. Mrs. Pearson will deliver all donations to the Youth Council.

Items suitable for ages 0–12

ORANGE PARTY! 🎉 Energetic & Fun
The Orange Party was a blast! 🧡🍊 Our Kids Ahead 4th graders planned everything—from the idea to the full performance! Their Halloween-themed dance battle was 100% student-led, and they even got to rock their costumes for the second time. 🎃✨
Snacks were totally on theme too: oranges, Halloween cookies, carrots, orange peppers with ranch, sherbet punch, cheesy Chex mix, and of course… CHEESEBALLS! 🧀😂
So proud of these creative, hard-working kids! 🙌

We’re raising money to help finish their awesome new playground! 🎠
Kids can earn donations by doing kind things at home — like helping with chores, reading to a sibling, or writing a thank-you note. Every act of kindness brings us one step closer to helping Gateway kids play and laugh together! 💕

🤟✨ Signing Fun After School! ✨🤟
Our 2nd and 3rd graders had an awesome time today learning American Sign Language (ASL) with one of our amazing teachers - Miss Marcella! They practiced signing their names and a few fun phrases — and absolutely loved it! 💬💙

The best part? This is just the beginning! Over the next few weeks, all grades will get to join in the ASL fun. Get ready to see lots of happy hands signing around our program! 👋😄

Our after-school program is celebrating Election Day in a special way — by giving our students the chance to exercise their right to vote! 🇺🇸

Instead of choosing candidates, our students are casting ballots for something a little sweeter… their favorite snacks! 🍎🍪🍿

It’s a fun and engaging way to learn about the voting process, the importance of having a voice, and how every vote counts — even when it’s for chips vs. fruit snacks! 😄

🎃💚 SomeBODY once told me… it’s HALLOWEEN! 💚🎃

Our after-school staff totally ogre-achieved this year — they surprised the students by showing up as the whole Shrek squad! 🧅 From Shrek , Fairy Godmother, Dragon, Three Blind Mice and even a few fairy-tale extras, the swamp came to school today!

The kids were SHREK-ing out with laughter and loved every second. 🐴👑✨

Big shoutout to our awesome team for bringing the magic (and a little bit of the swamp) to Halloween!
