Five Star Senior Living has made the difficult decision to close Morningview at Irving Park. We regularly evaluate our portfolio of senior living communities, and following a recently completed review we determined that Morningview at Irving Park is not financially sustainable due to the high cost of operating and maintaining the community in accordance with our high standards.

Five Star is working closely with residents and their families to develop individual, customized plans, and will help each resident transition to an appropriate alternative long term care provider. While we work through this process over the next few months, and until all residents have been safely and successfully relocated, the community will remain open.

Residents have been working hard on their giant coloring posters!

This is something our residents enjoy working on to keep themselves busy outside of group programming.

These are just a handful of the many they have completed! We rotate and display them seasonally in our large Activity Room.

We can hardly put new ones out as fast as they complete them! They love adding color to our community through their expressions of creativity. 🌈

This month, we're inviting our residents to take a sweet stroll down memory lane with the scent of fresh blueberries!

This sensory-based activity combines calming aromas, gentle mental stimulation, and meaningful reflection, creating a wellness experience that supports both mind and mood!

Why Blueberry?
The scent of blueberries has been shown to uplift mood, enhance mental clarity, and even support memory retention!

Residents are welcome to enjoy this self-guided sensory station anytime this month! Whether it brings back memories of baking blueberry pies or picking berries on a sunny day, we hope it sparks a smile! 😆

A Pearl-Fect Afternoon!

Our residents went on a shimmering seaside adventure right from the comfort of our own home, cracking open real clams to discover beautiful, colorful pearls inside! Each one was a unique surprise, and the excitement was contagious! Residents loved comparing what they found inside and chatting about beach time memories.

After the treasure hunt, we enjoyed a refreshing spread of fresh fruit to stay cool and hydrated!

Aloha from our Morningview Luau!

Our residents enjoyed some fun during our Hawaiian Beach Day, casting their lines into our very convincing duck pond...complete with laughs and friendly competition.

After fishing, everyone cooled off indoors with tropical punch and fresh fruit at our Hawaiian-themed social, followed by a Hula exercise to get the island vibes flowing and a calming ocean waves meditation to bring the beach to us!

Residents enjoyed a sunny afternoon in the shade at the City of Greensboro Bicentennial Gardens! It was the perfect day for a picnic lunch. Residents also found a lot of entertainment in "squirrel watching" while we were there.
