Welcome Leslie to our Team!

Leslie Higdon, LCMHCA is a kind and compassionate therapist who cares deeply about providing a safe place for people to share their concerns, uncover their strengths, gain new perspectives, and increase their well-being. She brings a wealth of knowledge and experience with over 14 years of working with children, adolescents, and families. Leslie has gained experience in the schools and in private practice. She graduated from Salem College with her Master's of Education and furthered her studies in Clinical Mental Health at NC Central University. Leslie enjoys working with people of all ages and has experience in anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, behavioral issues, ADHD symptoms, and self-acceptance. Theoretically, Leslie uses a collaborative approach drawing from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness, Person-Centered Therapy, Realistic, and Play Therapy.

We are happy to announce Chelsea White as a part of our team at Triad Child & Family Counseling.

Chelsea White, LCMHC, LCASA has been an integral part of mental wellness in our community for over 9 years. She is passionate about helping children, adults, and families live a full, balanced healthy life. She makes it her mission to assist people in navigating life challenges with coping, interpersonal, and social skills. Chelsea obtained her undergraduate and graduate degree from North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University with an M.S. degree in Mental Health Rehabilitation Counseling. To further Chelsea’s passion and drive in this field, she is a member of the LPCANC and a National Certified Counselor. She has most recent experience in outpatient therapy, as well as, previously working in more acute care settings. Chelsea enjoys working with people of all ages and has the most experience with anxiety related disorders (social, separation, generalized), Attention-Deficit/Hyperactive Disorder (ADHD), Autism, Disinhibited social engagement disorder (DSED), and PTSD. Theoretically, Chelsea uses research-based methodologies such as Play-Therapy (ages 10 and under), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Integrative Therapy, and Person-Centered. Personally, Chelsea likes to practice self-care by doing DIY projects, cooking, painting, canoeing, traveling, and aromatherapy.

We are deeply saddened by the tragic loss of life and act of violence at Mount Tabor High School yesterday. As a community, we are feeling the stress and anxiety.

Triad Child & Family Counseling specializes in providing counseling to children (ages 3 & up), teens, and their families. Therapy takes the form of play with younger children to help them better communicate their feelings and learn effective coping skills. When working with older children and teens, they use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, mindfulness-based practices, art and music modalites, and person-centered.
