How important is it to be fast when helping people with caregiver support?

We got an after hours call this evening from an out of town daughter who's mom unexpectedly needed overnight help starting tonight.

Within 51 minutes, we had contract sent, signed, account created, & an A+ caregiver lined up.

It’s been a minute since we last posted but only because we’ve been so busy!

Excited to announce that we’ve added 2 additional employees to our team!

Cheryl Bodhaine (who also happens to be Stephanie’s mom!), joined us in June as a Caregiver Recruiter. She has a degree in Education & she and her husband Steve have lived in the Raleigh area for the last 20 yrs.

Britta Hilton joined us earlier this month as our 2nd Client & Caregiver Liaison. She has a degree in History & is originally from Greensboro.

One of the things we keep hearing when meeting with clients is "my mom or my dad is very particular". Many of them have used other homecare services before and it just didn't work for them. We've heard A LOT of interesting stories about inconsistency, caregiver personalities, lack of experience, trust concerns, etc.

So how are we better equipped to help with "particular" moms & dads who need caregiver support? We're particular about the caregivers we recruit!

Our requirements:

-At least 4 years of professional caregiving experience
-Totally clean criminal background
-Stellar references from past employers

This translates into about 2% of everyone who applies to work with us!

Our small but mighty administrative team finally got a chance to get out this morning and celebrate the1 year anniversary of launching Hallmark Homecare in the NC Triad area.

When we first started last year, we were overwhelmed with support and well wishes from all our friends at Cone Health & in the community.

We also received some very fair skepticism about the level of local competition, difficulty recruiting caregivers, & challenges of working with a spouse – which were all completely valid points!

One year later though, I’m happy to report that we are thriving! The path to get here was definitely not a walk in the park, but we are extremely grateful to everyone who has helped us along the way as we help the Triad's senior community!
