TTTQ 11: “When you say listen to your ancestors, which ones do you mean?”
This is such a great question because technically everyone who came before us is an ancestor… and not all of them were the best versions of themselves.
I don’t think honoring our ancestors means blindly repeating the past or romanticizing it. I think it means listening for the wisdom that encourages us to grow, heal, and do better.
The ancestors worth listening to are the ones who would want more for you. The ones who would encourage you to learn from their mistakes instead of repeating them. The ones who whisper toward compassion, courage, healing, and becoming.
Sometimes honoring the past means evolving beyond it.
