Simple Nutrition Simple Nutrition because eating is not as complicated as the diet industry makes it out to be. Nutrition can be Simple.

We offer nutrition therapy that helps you to listen to your body, learn to nourish it well, feel good, and find joy in eating. At Simple Nutrition I provide nutrition counseling and education for women and their families. Maybe you feel like choosing what to eat for yourself or your family has gotten confusing or overwhelming. Maybe you feel like a short order cook for your family or that you are getting ready to do battle with your kids over getting them to eat every time to you sit down to a meal. Or maybe you are tired of dieting or feeling guilty for eating certain foods and are just ready to know how to eat for life. While eating is something that comes natural to us, it seems that it has gotten complicated, but it doesn't have to be. I'd like to help you or you and your family be healthier today than you were yesterday.

I’d even argue that not dieting allows space for you to care MORE about things other than weight loss.

Things like:

Your health
Your mental well-being
Connection with friends and family over meals and celebrations
Your worthiness
Advancing in your career and other interests

Just to name a few…

Dieting promises so many great things, but if you think about it, it actually takes a lot away. It chips away at your mental well-being, your worthiness, sometimes your connection with friends and family, your creativity… and often your health, although that is not always as obvious since weight loss is sold as health.

We help people step away from the back and forth, the all or nothing, the doing good then doing bad, the on track and then off track rollercoaster that dieting creates and help people nestle into a way of eating that is more steady, more peaceful, more enjoyable. AND it is better for their health.

If you don’t diet, do you worry that you are letting yourself go?
Diet culture sells the message that if you aren’t dieting, then you aren’t caring at all (there’s some black and white/all or nothing thinking for ya). Read my newest blog post about the ample space between choosing not to diet and not caring at all...

What you don’t get to hear is “I tried that and I couldn’t keep doing it.”
What you don’t get to hear is “I tried that and it sucked.”
What you don’t get to hear is “I tried that and I thought I was losing my mind.”
What you don’t get to hear is “I tried that and it triggered an eating disorder.”
What you don’t get to hear is “I tried that and I regained all the weight I lost and then some.”

Just because you don’t see it, doesn’t mean it isn’t there.

Every woman contributing their weight loss recommendation in that comment section is just sharing what they are doing now, and they too are hoping that what they are trying will finally work for them too.

There was not one person that said “I lost weight doing x and 10 years later I still kept the weight off.”

Everyone might be trying, but it doesn’t mean they are succeeding.

How is prevalent weight loss advice affecting (or not affecting) you right now? Let me know in the comments below, I’d love to hear from you about what you are experiencing and create a community of validation in each other’s comments.

Teachers as well as any other professional that spends their day people-facing and serving others are almost ALWAYS the clients that let eating fall to the wayside and soon as things get busy.

Teachers start their day super early, often breakfast is something small, maybe even drinkable, it might happen when they get to work, and often, not at all.

And same with lunch. People need you, you have work to catch up or get ahead on, or you are just flat out anxious about what needs to get done and it feels even more anxiety provoking to stop and eat.

Ya’ll, we say it all the time at Simple Nutrition. When you eat throughout the day, you will feel more like a human. And not just any human, but one that is more focused, more alert, less irritable, and with more pep in their step.

Am I talking to you right now?

Then here’s what I want you to do, take 15-20 min for yourself two times a day and eat a meal with multiple components in it that tastes good to you. Set a timer if it makes you feel better. 30-40 minutes a day has the potential to change the way you feel!

Can you relate to nourishment falling to the wayside when stuff gets busy? I know you are not alone, leave a comment below and let’s build a community of validation.

What we look at (and don’t look at!) can have a significant impact on our body image.

Be ruthless about what you take in…and a telltale sign that you are taking in a lot of diet culture is if your explorer page on IG has a lot of diet culture content on it because there they are showing you what you interact with most.

And this is even if you don’t “like” those posts, if you click on or pause for that type of content, IG is paying attention and will show you more-this has been a surprise to a lot of my clients.

Social media can actually be a tool to help you improve your body image, but you first have to get the stuff out that contributes to bad body image!

Nourish U is a six-week virtual group I’ve created for women who are tired of obsessing over food and their bodies—and who are ready to explore a gentler, more joyful way of nourishing themselves.

It’s a new version of a group I used to lead pre-pandemic… back when we all gathered in person in my office. And I was excited to find this winter when I ran the first iteration of Nourish U that the magic was still there! The group offered the same supportive and empowering experience even though it was through a screen!

Nourish U combines a compassionate, non-diet approach to nutrition with the power of group support. Together, we’ll explore ideas, share experiences, and help each other find a better way forward.

Our Weekly Topics:
1. Eat this, not that: Why common approaches to health and weight loss often work against real health.
2. Are we all supposed to be the same size? Understanding what a healthy weight really means.
3. Why do I want to eat again, I just ate? Nutrition essentials no one talks about.
4. I’m supposed to eat HOW much protein?! This week we will get into the what of eating and you will leave feeling empowered to cut through all of the confusing food messaging out there.
5. I’ll just exercise it off!: Debunking exercise myths and understand its true role in nutritional health.
6. I’d like my body so much more if… Reframing body image after years of struggle.

Here’s what the program includes:
* 6 weekly virtual sessions (1 hour each; the first session will run a little longer, an hour and 15 minutes).
* Cost: If you have Aetna or BCBS insurance, your insurance may cover the cost of the group. Out of pocket cost is $35/session charged weekly, or $240 total.
Just a heads up that this group has 8 spots and 3 are already filled (for those too tired to math…that is five spots left).

Nourish U isn’t about quick fixes or one-size-fits-all solutions. It’s about creating space for meaningful change—where you can learn, grow, and feel supported every step of the way.

If this sounds like a good fit for you, or if you have questions, I’d love to chat. You can DM me or for more info, or use the link in my bio and choose the groups option.

There is nothing worse than a shirts crisis!

Wearing clothing that exposes more of your body can leave you feeling vulnerable. Be gentle with yourself and do the gentle things.

Get the clothes out now before you have to go somewhere in them and see what fits. Wear them around, get used to seeing your body in them again. Allow your brain to catch up.

If something no longer fits, this allows you time to shop for something that does. Remember, you need a new size or fit, not a new body!
