We are happy to announce that each branch will now be operating an additional hour each week! The St. Helena Branch will be open until 6 PM on Tuesdays. The Clinton Branch will be open until 6 PM on Wednesdays. The Jackson Branch will be open until 6 PM on Thursdays.

4-H members apart of St. Helena College and Career Academy’s STEAM Team work diligently on their Sea Perch models in preparation for this springs Sea Perch Competition!

Our 4-H members at St. Helena Arts and Technology Academy always work great together during our monthly group meetings!

In this activity, members worked together on a STEM challenge! By utilizing the Engineering Design Process, they designed and built a hydraulic-powered robotic claw designed for grasping and scooping materials.

Some groups competed it perfectly, some struggled, however member was able to gain a deeper connection with one another in their school’s program!

The LSU AgCenter will begin a free training program for Louisiana’s beginning farmers this spring. The program, Grow Louisiana, is focused on sustainable/organic horticulture and business practices.

The program will consist of fourteen Thursday night sessions from Jan 22nd to May 7th. The sessions will be held at the LSU on-campus Hill Farm Teaching Facility in Baton Rouge.

Beginning farmers are defined as those currently farming with less than 10 years of experience or those wanting to start farming. The deadline to apply is November 25. Apply here: https://tinyurl.com/GrowLouisiana26

All hands were on deck last week!
While some got their hands dirty planting new vegetables at local schools, others brought their artist creativity to life decorating our homecoming parade float! 🍀
