Independence Health System today announced that its operations have transitioned to a new location to serve the western Pennsylvania business community.

It was previously located at 443 Frye Farm Road in Greensburg and is now located at 200 Village Dr., Suite C, Greensburg, PA 15601. Hours are Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

The West Virginia University Health System and Independence Health System announced their intent for Independence Health System’s five hospitals – Butler Memorial, Clarion, Frick, Latrobe, and Westmoreland Hospitals – along with its affiliated physician groups, and other subsidiaries to join the WVU Health System in the fall of 2026 and operate under the WVU Medicine Medicine brand.

The West Virginia University Health System and Independence Health System announced today their intent for Independence Health System’s five hospitals – Butler Memorial, Clarion, Frick, Latrobe, and Westmoreland Hospitals – along with its affiliated physician groups, and other subsidiaries to join the WVU Health System in the fall of 2026 and operate under the WVU Medicine brand.

As part of the agreement, the WVU Health System will commit $800 million over the next five years to modernize Independence Health System’s hospitals, including the Butler Memorial Hospital emergency room and the Westmoreland Hospital campus; grow clinical services; and expand access to high-quality care across the community it serves. The transaction is subject to customary state and federal regulatory reviews, as well as bondholder consent.

Independence Health System will host an informative hernia education and free screening event on Tuesday, Dec. 2, at 4:30 p.m. The event will take place at the Butler Crossroads Campus, located at 129 Oneida Valley Road, Suite 111, Butler, Pa.

The session will be led by general surgeons Meng-G Lee, MD, and Andrew Szabo, DO. They will present educational information on different types of hernias, their associated risks, and advanced treatment options, including robotic-assisted surgery. Following the presentation, participants will have the opportunity to engage in an interactive question-and-answer session.

Advanced registration is required, and appointment slots are limited. To qualify for the free hernia screening, participants must attend the educational presentation. To register, call 877-771-1234 and press 3.
