PCOS is now being recognized as PMOS — and this shift matters BIG TIME.
For years, “Polycystic O***y Syndrome” centered ovaries and cysts…when many women don’t even have cysts. Meanwhile, symptoms affecting the ENTIRE body were being overlooked.
The new term: Polyendocrine Metabolic Ovarian Syndrome (PMOS) acknowledges that this condition is more than fertility or irregular periods.
PMOS is now being recognized as a:
hormonal condition
metabolic condition
inflammatory condition
whole-body condition
This helps validate experiences many women have been trying to explain for YEARS:
• insulin resistance
• fatigue & weight struggles
• anxiety/depression
• hirsutism & hair loss
• inflammation
I'll be going live to break down exactly what this means for us!
