As a clinical mental health student at Capella University pursuing my Master's degree, I am dedicated to expanding my expertise in the field of mental health. My journey has been enriched by roles such as Recovery Support Specialist (RSS) and Care Coordinator at Recovery Centers of America, and as a Recovery Coach at FAVOR Upstate. These experiences have fueled my passion for supporting individuals on their recovery journeys. I am also a Certified Peer Support Specialist with certifications in alcohol & drug addiction, trauma, and sexual abuse,
Currently, I serve as a Mental Health Technician at Carolina Center for Behavioral Health and a student clinical intern at New Therapy Perspectives, where I continue to hone my counseling skills. Anticipating my graduation in December 2025, I have also started SHINE, a Life, Wellness, and Recovery coaching initiative born out of my desire to help others while still in school. After graduation I intend to expand services into counseling and group therapy in a way that breaks away from some of the traditional norms of one on one counseling.
SHINE holds special significance to me, inspired by a meaningful experience with a pastor and his church. As a child, I would sing "This Little Light of Mine" while he joyfully played the piano. The words "let it shine, let it shine, let it shine" resonated deeply with me, and they now serve as the guiding light for my work through SHINE.
Until I graduate, I will be focusing exclusively on empowering others through life/recovery coaching, helping them find their own light and let it shine.
