D2 participated in Kidney Disease Awareness Month by collaborating with its PEARL initiative to tackle health disparities in the Mississippi Delta region at the YMCA of Greenville, MS. The event, focused on Prevention, Early Detection, Advocacy, Referral, and Living Healthy, offered complimentary health screenings, including glucose checks, blood pressure checks, BMI assessments, breast health evaluations, and colorectal cancer screenings. Physicians from Delta Health System, Dr. Pradeep Thakare, Gastroenterologist, and Dr. Amita Patel, Nephrologist, delivered informative presentations. D2 members produced mini-infomercials addressing prevalent health disparities in the Black community, covering topics such as cardiovascular disease, diabetes, breast health, childhood obesity, and stroke prevention. Special appreciation is extended to D2 members for their tireless efforts and participation. Gratitude is also expressed to the Event Coordinators
Dr. LaWanda Harris and Audrey Landrum for their exceptional planning skills. Under the leadership of President Ezell Landrum, Jr., D2 continues to uphold its mission of defining and refining excellence in healthcare through collaborative community engagement. Kudos to D2 for a job well done! 👏🏽
